Carpal tunnel?

Hi guys

I don't know if it's a fibro flare up or carpal tunnel. So much pain in my wrists and 2 fingers. Areas that hurt are very hot, swollen and skin is red causing a loss of dexterity. I have felt unwell and increasing cold over the past few days with kidney pain.

Anyone else have carpal tunnel ?

I will see my gp next week

you might find towelling tennis wristbands helpful, or those wrist supports (like stretchy half-fingered gloves) or tubi-grip, may help. don't have them too tight,or wear them at night.

your gp/ot/physio can give you wrist supports.

Hi emjane4465

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to the pain. I have pasted you the NHS Choices link to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, so I hope that you find it useful:

I think this is one of those issues that you really should discuss with your GP just to rule out Carpal tunnel and keep your GP up to date with how you are getting on.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi emjane, I had carpal tunnel in. Other hands. This meant I had severe pins and needles pain in my my thumb first two finger and half of the ring fingers. I Also had pains In my wrists going up the arm, eventually causing tennis elbow :) I had surgery in both hand as mine was quite severe, best thing ever :)

I had splints to wear at night, but they stopped working, hence the surgery. I hope this is helpful and you can get some relief :)

I have it I wear those wrist supports half glove thing issued by gp via Physio. And I have to wear them ONLY at night. As that's when everything bends and puts pressure on. I now only wear them when I feel the need. Best talk to the doc honey.

Hi, just a quick reply, I am suffering too with my wrists and fingers especially above my knuckle by fingertips! very difficult to grip anything and writing at the moment is nigh on impossible. Although I have been diagnosed with osteo-arthritis as well as FM I think that they are interlinked. I'm glad you are going to see your GP especially as you are feeling cold and are having kidney pain. I wish you all the very best of luck x

physio will be able to give you supports to wear at night, but some self-bought ones shouldn't be.

You can have a simple test to see if it is CT. Please ask your GP for a referral . The pain is worse from the middle finger and can go to the elbow. I had my operated on many years ago with breat results .
