A date which is firmly placed in my house's calendar and I would like to wish 'everyone' who is Irish today as tradition stands....... a very fruitful day I mean today we're all Irish
The link below takes you to wikipedia, corny I know but gives a very fine detailed account to the history and festivities of St Patrick............. my brother's namesake!

Morning sian and a very fruitful day to you too, Is that right? My Nan was Irish who came over with the Romany Gypsies in the 1800s.
But I know nothing other than that and I can`t remember who it was told me.
How are you now. It seems that most of us are suffering more at the moment, and I send them all gentle hugs sue

I just lost what I wrote
Anyhoo! what I meant was that today by tradition we're all Irish and fruitful means luck or lucky hence the shamrocks and pots of gold, leprechauns etc
I have edited it above to be clearer
There is so much history behind St Patrick that I couldn't select appropriately as I don't know it too well so the link is good for that. There is even a tale about the fact there were indeed two Patrick's !?! LOL
I haven't had time to go through it all myself yet but very interesting thus far!
I have Welsh, Scottish and Irish Celt in my heritage
That's why I'm so fogged up heheheheh
Huge Irish shamrock fluffies to you may they bring you the luck of the Irish xx
My great great grandfather came over from Ireland with his cattle, also in the 1800s. I tried to do my family history and got stuck at that point. Probably would have to go to Ireland to go any further back. He came from Limerick, as did Terry Wogan I believe
Happy St Patrick's Day to you all. I'm Irish came over here in 1989, have so many great memories of celebrating St Paddy's day both here and at home, Don't go out to celebrate any more as my health issues put paid to that, but my memories keep me going
