Arm pain and finger pain
hi there,i have this too on both hands -my fingers on r hand bend right and those on my left bend left.do you have a "hitchhikers "thumb.i read this term when researching fibro and lupus,it is lupus term btu dr just laughed at me.
I believe hitch hikers thumb is a term used to describe the extreme deformity that can be caused by rheumatoid arthritis, along with other suck descriptive terms such as trigger finger etc. Huskybike what you describe could be any number of things, it's certainly worth seeing your doctor about when you can finally get in, but don't worry about Lupus etc just yet. There are conditions that can affect the tendons in your hands which cause them to shorten slightly, thus changing the shape of your fingers etc. I have it in my right hand, but they haven't given it a name, it just looks funny, but I'm told it nothing to worry about. Hope you get answers soon xx
Hi Huskybike
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you can be today? I am so sorry to read that you are having these problems at the present time. I agree completely with 'Lipbalmaddict' as there could be so many differing reasons for this to be happening to you at this time. It really would be worth having to wait to see your GP and have this looked at properly.
I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your situation.
Ken
Morning Huskybike Like your handle by the way, sound like you have problems with the wrist sorry my brain just left my body cannot remember what I was going to say I am sure someone else will. Hello gins its ok I get some foggy days too x managed to get to see my lovely doctor she had been brilliant , she was very annoyed that I haven't seen a Rhueamatologist yet after waiting so long . Anyway she said I have carpel tunnel syndrom in both hands and may need an operation . Also gave me some lyrica to try again, but to start on a lower dose 50 mg for a week then increase to 150 by 3 weeks time, when I have to go back and see her. She was very honest with me and said not to stop riding my bike as very imortant that I don't stiffen up i work in a dry cleaners but am able to take breaks when i want so dont eant to give it up just yet anyway. hope everyone's feeling ok hugs to all Huskybike
