But I suffer from awful hot flushes where I sweat profusely for about 10 minutes and then become my usual cold self again. Has anyone else got this problem . I think it is to do with my fibro ????

HELLO - I TOO GET FLUSHES - DON;T RELLY KNOW IT'S DUE TO FIBRO -

OR IF IT'S STILL A HORMONE THING FROM HYSTERECTOMY/MENOPAUSE.

MY DARLING HUBBY ALWAYS KEEPS A JUG OF ICED WATER AND A TUB OF

ICE CREAM HANDY! (CAREFUL OF THE ICE CREAM THOUGH AS THE SUGER CONTENT CAN CAUSE A FLUSH!)

GOOD LUCK & A HUG

Hello every one. From what i have read it is caused by fibro. This is where it gets technical. apparently fibro causes problems with our autonomic systems this is supposed to control a lot of things like bp, heart rate, ect and our temperatures, unfortunatley to put it simply, our thermostats are broken. Which is why we have trouble getting warm and then going over the top and into a sweat. I hope this makes sense sue

I get short periods of sweating for about 10 mins usually in bed or if I have a hot drink.

I had a full hysterectomy five years ago at 44 so not sure if it is hormone based, fibro or the medications...

Hi juliao

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am also delighted that you find the forum very useful.

To answer your question, yes, this is a Fibro issue. However, there was a television programme on last week where a young woman had this exact same problem and tests showed it was hormonal. She underwent some botox injections in the affected area and it treated the issue really well.

I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi, this happens to me too. The weird thing is that it happens at the same time every day, around 9 in the evening.

Hi Juliao

I have the same problem, i can get so hot when doing something physical that the sweat drips off my head. But other times i am so sore and painful and i cannot get warm no matter what i do, or hoe high the heating is on or how close to the fire i sit with a quilt wrapped round me. Its like the inside of me is cold and nothing i do from the outside can change it. I have read that this is because fibro affects the body's ability to regulate its own temperature. Just another fibro symptom then.

I have osteo x rheumatoid arthritis, I had an hysterectomy at the age of 38 , 23 years ago. I still suffer flushes x terrible night sweats , so maybe us unfortunates that do have these illnesses are prone to extra suffering , fingers crossed yours does,nt last as long as mine xx

I find that I can have real trouble regulating my body temp.. I seldom feel cold to others even if it is freezing outside, and for a long time, it was kind of an in joke with my friends that if a room was cold, they would sit around me to keep warm.. it is definitely due to the fibro
