Hello,
Can I ask, just how many people on this forum with Fibro are registered disabled and whether Fibro is something that is recognised as a disability?
And if you are registered disabled, how did you go about it?
Thanks
Lisa

Hi,
I'm registered disabled due to my fibro and I also have osteoarthritis in my hips and neck. I filled in the form, stressing mobility issues, but also equally stressing my chronic fatigue. I was surprised at how quickly I received a response. My blue badge is valid for three years, so it's nice not to have to worry about doing it every year.
I'm pretty sure I applied online (sorry not to be sure... fibro fog kicking in).

Good evening,I too used to get a blue badge but it expired and I haven't got round to reapplying xx
Is by having a blue badge means you are registered disabled?
yes you are disabled as far as the blue badge is concerned, but if you are wanting to apply for any benefits i believe it is a long and stressful road i am about to start now and i am dreading it, im hoping someone on here might be able to help xxx
thats good, when i came out of hospital my occupational therapist sorted all the adaptational around the house all for free and there was alot of it too. I only had here for a month after i came out as they was short term but now i dont have anyone to ring or get help from do you have any idea how i would go about getting a social worker, ive applied for my blue badge but no benefits yet im scared of what i have read and heard about how they treat you etc and the sucess rate xxx
Thank you for all this information.
By researching it, I can see or at least think I see that I am classed as disabled and have no need to register disabled so to speak.
I just now need to work out how best to apply for a blue badge. Can I still apply if I'm a working Fibro sufferer?
Hi bluebell, Thanks for getting back to me i think when my doctor comes tomorrow i will ask him if he has anything that can help if not i will do what you suggest and contact the social services and council xx
I have the Yellow card from local council, and Blue Badge applied for that online and had a medical, also the same for a Disabled Bus Pass, I have sent off for Pip but have not heard back yet, they are way behind on claims xx
I have been getting DL A for quite a while. After a while I found out I could apply for a Blue Badge which I got. Recently Ihe found out that I could get a free bus pass, but when I enquired I was told I needed to be Registered Disabled with Social Service. Apparently having a Blue Badge does make you Registered. I had to apply to Social Services (form to fill in) and if they think you qualify they send you a carf with a registration number on it. Then you can get a free bus pass and any other benefits available to the Registered Disabled. Hope this answers your question x
I believe you can no longer apply to be 'registered disabled' as such. I also have a blue badge and I've had adaptations to my house courtesy of the OT department, I live in North Wales, but I can find nowhere to sign up as registered disabled. XX
