I have had very swollen glad on right... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
I have had very swollen glad on right side of the neck and it is painful, also have pain in eye, ear, teeth, jar and head.
Morning cows rock, yes Indeed I have had swollen glands, painful eyes, jaw and horrendous head pain many a time and believe it is all fibro. However,if it is a new symptom you are wise to get it checked out as we can't always assume that all symptoms are fibro related, good luck x
Hi Haribo36
Yes it is new to have pain gland I am seeing doctor on Wednesday, I am worried as the tiredness has got worse since this, thsnk you for your kind words x
Hi cowsrock can you not see the Doc before Wed it sounds horrid! xgins
Oh cowsrock! I think that you actually have some kind of infection..It's better
to check daily for cancellations of appointments to see if you can get in
quicker..anytime the gland is swollen, it's usually some type of infection but
the question is if it is bacterial or viral..I would suggest trying a good strong
decongestant but don't do it if you have high blood pressure or glaucoma..
Sometimes those tubes just get all clogged up..for some of the kids depending
on what I saw with them, they had to plug their nose and blow out - it would
cause a popping noise in their ear..that would help to unclog those swollen
passages and tubes. You really do need to see a doctor though...Some
people find that warmer compresses help to soothe the ache in the jaw and
in your neck areas...the other thought that comes to mind is always mono..
I can't tell you that though..but if tiredness is unusual, it needs to be looked
at...So sorry that you have to wait to see the doctor for so long..In the
USA, there are doctors in the grocery stores, pharmacies, and some have
a small hospital like setting. I have had parents come in to school to take
a peek at their very young childrens throat..or their own..but I couldn't do
much..Strep and other infections are getting really clever..not everyone
has the same symptoms..sometimes just a lump in the throat while
swallowing turns out to be strep throat..Good luck and keep in touch.
It does need checking out, but the swollen gland could in fact be a Trigger Point from Myofascial Pain Syndrome which over half of people with Fibro have, and Active Trigger Points are really painful to touch - the pain spreads as you touch it. Funnily enough, this is EXACTLY how my illness started, what you are describing was my first set of symptoms and it all went on from there. But it could be an infection so it needs checking out asap.
