Hi all,
I am thinking of starting a food journal , to find out if certain types of foods make the pain and fatigue etc worse .
Has anyone tried this ? and what foods affect you ? Can GP test for food sensitivities ?

You can gave this done at holland snd barret my gp dnt do them but it wnt hurt keeping a food diary x
Hi larrisa, from my own experience cutting down or out wheat and dairy produce has helped with the ibs ! Each person though can have different triggers,so I think a food diary might be a very good idea, then you can see if there are any obvious links to which foods cause pain etc.
Wishing you all the very best, and do let us know how you get on

I have stopped eating potatoes tomatoes any food that comes from the deadly nightshade group makes my fibro worse .GP was no help thou
cheese makes my pain worse so I avoid it now when possible. shellfish sets off my brother's M.E. but doesn't effect my fibro. good luck.
I try to stay away from m.s.g., wheat, corn syrup. No luck yet, but I'll keep trying.
My mother cannot eat prawns, apples, any dairy and avoids too much wheat. I gave up wheat years ago but it made no difference so went back on it after 6 months. I still don't eat too much if I can avoid it and bread is always something to avoid too much of.
I also avoid hot drinks in the evening and eating after 6pm (acid reflux). Some days I limit my liquid intake to just water, but only when I'm really rough.

I guess everyone is different but I'm like fibrofoggiest. I am much much better for cutting out wheat. I also restrict dairy and all starchy (indigestible) foods, such as potatoes, rice, bananas. I know I cannot digest red meat so I don't eat it. I eat lots of veg, fruit, chicken, eggs, some beans and pulses. I don't feel like I miss out on anything. I would do anything to avoid the pain! It also works out ok with family life because I'll make for example chicken fajitas and I just eat everything but the tortilla, or chicken stir fry without the noodles, or chicken and cheese sauce with spinach and basil salad instead of pasta. Doctors didn't help at all but it was my occupational health nurse who recommended cutting out wheat - and also sugar - I'm not so saintly when it comes to sugar!!!
I HAVE WHEAT AND GLUTEN INTOLERENCE SO I DONT ANY FOODS WITH GLUTEN OR WHEAT.I AM STARTING JUICING AGAIN .FOR PEOPLE WITH FIBRO IT IS VERY GOOD FOR US.
