I was told by my rheumatologist that no matter how tired or fatigued I am or if I have pain, which I do everyday I should still try to exercise as it is essential for Fibro.

I find I get very stiff and sore if I don't do some exercise, even a slow walk or some gentle movement, yes I will be sore afterwards but it does help me feel less tired and lifts my mood.

It doesn't have to be anything difficult even a few arm or leg movements while sitting down could be a start, or ask your GP or specialist for a list of gentle exercise you could do to start you off.

I have found a good combination of rest and light exercise helps my overwhelming tiredness.

I hope this answer is of some help to you.

Exercise is essential, both mentally and physically, but it doesn't need to be strenuous.

Just lying on the bed and having a 'cat stretch can help.

Ideally, several small, gentle sessions daily are a good help - just walking for five minutes, or sitting in a chair doing some ankle rotations may be enough to start with, but it's important to do it regularly and frequently.

You will find that if you can manage this your exhaustion and depression will start to decrease. :)

Hi, I seem to go through different stages when all I can do or want is sleep sleep and more sleep then I would go through a stage were I am still very very tired but I am only able to get little naps like an hour here and there at the start I use to feel very guilty when I went into the sleepy stage as I was more worried about what other people were saying but I have been very very lucky as my friends and family studied all about the affects that the fibro was having on me it was them who got me and still getting me to do what my body and mind tell me not for me to tell my body so all I can say to you is the same listen to your body and if you need to sleep then you do so .............

About your weight gain well I don't know if anyone else but my taste buds changed from savoury foods to sweet foods as I would have never eating much sweet food were now I would crave for it and no I am not pregnant lol !!!! But it also could do with what ever medication you are on.

Hope this helps a little ......

Same as others say on here the lady who said about the cat stretch told me that one as like you I can't get much exercise at the moment and it seems to be helping a bit. Also if it is mainly the fatigue that is bothering you it may be worth getting a blood test to make sure you are not anaemic .i am on and off iron a lot so always worth checking
