Hi,

I wish I did. Apparently people with Fibro and CFS never go into a restorative sleep level so we constantly wake up feeling unrefreshed. I do find that moving around a bit when I hit those very low energy times when I start to nod helps. Just a gentle walk or something can be beneficial.

Hugs

I know what you mean, I'm sure I sleep ok but always tired. Gave in today and had 4 hours from 1330, could sleep and sleep. I just try to fight it.

I can only say from my own experience, may be coincidence, but since I've somehow lost the ability to nap in the day, I am finding it earier to drop off at night, plus I think I don't wake up so often. I just go with the flow and wait for those times when I have eneppgy. (One trick I use, is to drink a pint or two of water. When I need to go pee, I make myself do an odd job or two on the way, & on the way back. This sometimes even shakes the cobwebs & I get a second wind to carry on, stopping me feeling so lethargic. As I say, I can only speak for my experience, hope you get some relief, Julie xxx

Hi dillm2

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? As others have said to you, Fibro sufferers do not really get a great sleep and most of us tend to get tired very easily.

However, I was wondering what medications you were taking? As some of the drugs we use can create fatigue and tiredness themselves. There is a medication called 'Symmetrel Hydrochloride' which is an anti-fatigue medication. It may be worth discussing this with your GP?

I have pasted the FibroAction website link below and I hope that you find it useful:

I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your issue.

All my hopes and dreams for you

I agree with Jilly and Ken. There's evidence that gentle activity can help fight fatigue BUT only you know how you truly feel at the time. There are things you can do to change the way you relate to fatigue. As to sleep, yes, fibro generally has this thing without restorative sleep and again there may be something you can find, perhaps working with your GP. And then the afternoon nap can be essential or wreck the night's sleep. It's a hard one as we're all different with different circumstances. There are loads of sleep tactics around. I do tai chi, progressive muscle relaxation, eat a banana before bed, wind down slowly, dark room, bedroom is for sleep only, no distractions, and yet Friday night - sorry Saturday morning after a full dose of medication, I still did my laundry and cooked lunch :(

Gentle hugs :)
