Migrane without the pain

At the moment I seem to have all the signs of a migraine without the pain. Feel sick, light headed, seeing stars and muzzy but no headache. Anyone else have this. My temperature is also rather high.

Yes, certainly I have in the past had very similar things to those you have mentioned, for a while I had all the "extra" symptoms of migraine but with no pain, odd, but I was grateful in a way just not to have that hideous pain, then it changed and pain once more was the feature and has stayed that way

I would suggest though that you do check with your GP , as you mention your temperature is rather high, it might be a good idea to rule anything else out.

Hi

I have had this, I would not really consider myself as a migraine sufferer as thankfully I do not get them very often and I do not have meds for them but I usually get some warning signs, heightened sensitivity to noise or lights, patterns over my eyes, jagged patterns which make me unable to see and feeling sick. Occasionally I do not get anything else though. Hubby is a frequent sufferer and I am very glad I do not get them like he does.

If you don't have pain, it's unlikely that this is migraine.

Your symptoms suggest an infection of some kind, probably viral, especially with your raised temperature.

Take plenty of fluids and some regular paracetamol - if it doesn't clash with your other medication - and if you get rapidly worse, develop unusual pain, or don't improve over 24 hours, then you should see your GP urgently.

Hope you feel better soon,

You may be suffering from visual/retinal migraine, which is often not accompanied by pain.

I have this yes, I went to see eye specialist and he said it is optical migraine that can last a couple of minutes to a few hours. The headache I get afterwards but not migraine head just headache.

If I get up to early, when I'm still feeling nauseous, then I can get migraine shimmers. I will gradually lose vision. My body is telling me to rest. I can be left feeling yuck for a couple of days sometimes but don't necessarily get the migraine headache with it. I take paracetamol or paramax if there's nausea involved.

I can also get abdominal migraine which can floor me. It feels like tummy bug but isn't.

Of course my diet helps with both but sometimes my body just says no.

At the moment the high atmospheric pressure is causing neuralgia in my head. That can raise my temperature. I cant bear any touch around my ears. My eyes are puffed up. Shoulders and arms have nerve pain. That has a dull headache with it, not migraine. Everything feels swollen. It will go but for now is stopping me wanting to move. I just want to sleep more.

This conditon is such a Bugger at times x

Thanks for all the feedback. I am not alone ;-)

Last attack was while I was with the physio. Felt very strange, he did call someone else over , more senior afraid did not take in who she was just seemed in charge, and they checked blood pressure, temperature and made sure I was not going home on my own, but just felt so odd but no pain.

Do need an eye test so will try and arrange one next week.

I usually suffer migraine with awful headache but have also had classic migraine, that is, with aura but no pain or only a small amount of pain. It was the shimmering vision and couldn't focus. I was really unnerved by it the first time it happened. I have also had it when I'm out and can't focus where I'm going. I got a spate of them, sometimes twice in a day and saw they lasted about fifteen minutes so I would just close my eyes until the aura passed. Funnily enough I don't seem to be getting those now. I didn't start getting aura until a few years ago (in my late 40s, at a guess).
