hi all,

not having a good week. as the tiltle suggests the level of pain is on the increase. the last few says have been horrid, the pain in my lower back, legs and neck is driving me crazy cant get and rest from it.

still waiting for an appointment to see my doctor at the hospital for the results of my latest MRI scan for my lower back pain. will give them till next week and if i do not have appointment the i will ring them.

the medication i am on helps a little. i take 900mg of gabapentine 3 times a day i have tramadol which i can take upto to 4 times a day and amytrip at night. i used to have oramorph which i could prn but could not cope with the side effects.

just wish i could get a good nights sleep without pain waking me up when i move around in bed, poor husband he tries his best to help but i just snap at him to not touch me as i have pain all over and i can turn over myself.

thanks for listening.

Hi Janet

I reckon it is the weather as so many people seem to be having a flare that doesn't seem to be controlled by the medication at all. I am like you that the mere touch on my skin can cause me extreme pain. At the moment I feel as though someone has given my ribs a heavy kicking. We need some sun on our bones. Hope you get your results soon and get some tratment that works for you. It is my birthday tomorrow (21 again) and I am praying that I will be well enough to enjoy the planned meal.Hope we all have a better night.xx

Hi dobie62

I am so sorry to read that you are having such a flare up at this time and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this problem.

If this keeps up it may be a good idea to discuss the issue with your GP and see if there is anything else that they can offer you? I genuinely hope that you manage to get a really good nights sleep.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi dobie 62

I was just flicking through some of the posts again and I was wondering if you were feeling any better? Many of the members have complained that they feel under the weather at the moment and somebody placed an interesting post asking if the air pollution could have something to do with it? It wouldn't surprise me if that is at the root of all.

Anyway, hope that you are picking up.

hi there,

i just feel like it is never ending. sleepless nights dont help. just wish my own GP would see me and let me discuss this but she wont until we have the results of latest MRI scan which i had 5 weeks ago. my doctor at the hospital has said if nothing shows up onthis sca he is going to refer me to the pain clinic. have been refered before and they did a phone interview with me that lasted 45mins only for them to say that there was nothing they could do for me as i seemed to have the pain under control and they would have just adviced me to go on as i was.

just wish one of them would assess me to see if it is Fibro instead of nerve damage which they seem to think it is, but tests have proven that there is nothing wrong with the nerves in my legs.

i will be phoning the hospital tomorrow to see if they can give me an early appointment as i cannot go on like this the pain is driving me insane. fingers crossed they will be able to do this for me. i need a diagonose as i am waiting for my WCA appointment which i sent off for last year as i am still on IB. need this so i canshove it uo the noses as they dont see pain as a cause for not working. the problem being is that it fluctuates and they love this.

I am so sorry to read that you are not feeling any better, I have suggested to other members in the past that they go to A&E and get seen there as they normally take more notice as it is their job to investigate these things!

I said to one member go in there screaming and crying about the pain and she did! And then she started to get taken seriously as the letters from the hospital were going to her GP and consultant. It can be a risky thing to do but sometimes I do not believe that we are left with any other option?

I sincerely hope that you start to feel some relief from the pain soon, and I will keep my fingers crossed that you get the treatment that you need and deserve.

All my hopes and dreams for you
