Two more weeks before my lidocaine infusion. I am in the worst pain I have ever had ! It feels like broken bones and I am left unable to straighten my joints out.
I had to take an emergency day off work to get my pain killers which are no longer working. The doctors have a triage system so you never see the same GP twice.
Spending 4 nights at my boyfriends who has a memory foam matress has helped me sleep a little better. Coming home to my own bed I have had to put pillows under my joints that hurt. I cannot clench a fist my hands hurt that much my knees elbows wrists and feet are horrible hurting like when you break a bone.
I had a night out over the weekend. Does alcohol aggrevate anyone else. Its one of my triggers andi have not drank in 6 months and I have now decided to be almost t total as I cannot cope with the pain from a night out.

Alcohol is toxic to the body anyway....much more so if you' ve fibro ... and worse if on medication...Maybe your boyfriend will lend you his mattress until you can buy one...
Before I got my memory foam mattress I too was in agony - unable to rest or turn over as joints were screaming all the time. I got an inflatable mattress/bed and blew it up to under the normal amount, so it was squishy (for want of a better word). I then put this on top of my mattress. It not only helped with the pain (it cushioned my body) but also as a beneficial "side effect" it raised the bed by a few inches which made it easier to get in and out of bed. I now have a good deep mattress, but that little "trick" with the inflatable worked wonders. I hope you feel better soon x
I am feeling like you too, i had a couple of glasses of champagne while sitting in the garden at the weekend and omg i am in agony cannot move out of bed or walk sit or stand for the pain i very seldom drink alcohol because it always has a toxic effect on me, but it was a birthday celebration and i was being socialble.omg never again i cannot believe how much of a flare up this has caused me..i do wonder if there is a link between fybro and alcohol.. hope you feel better soon this is my third day in bed feeling like i could just die. lying on a heatpad to soothe bones muscles and joints pillows supporting all joints even between my knees and my chest hurts so bad when breathing. happy days eh! hope everyone else is well and having a better day.. sending healing thoughts and gentle marshmallow hugs to everyone.xx
I also sleep on memory foam mattress but sometimes this agrevates my arthritic pain- every time i roll over in my sleep i wake up in shooting pain. Ive put two duvets on top and skeep on those. All my meds generally help with the fibro pain (amitryptaline duloxitine and fentanyl) but nothing touching the pain in my arthritic joints. Went for bone density scan today as they think i may have osteoporosis.
I would really advise against drinking alcohol if u are on meds- it will destroy your liver and pancreas and is v dangerous as can heighten some meds effects and cancel the effect out on others- i havent drunk for 18 years - i used drink and drugs to help cope with my pain and as a result my pancreas is permanently scarred.
In a lot of pain today because of the rain but have forced myself up and moving, grit my teeth thru the pain- but its better than being in bed all day and letting the joints stiffen up even more. All the best.
I had a Tempur mattress which is one of the best visco-elastic memory mattresses you can buy. I used all of my saving to buy the blinking thing and ended up near on crippled. The visco-elastic moulds to your body when it warms up and I found it impossible to roll out of the mould, and getting out of bed was just too painful for words. I have now got a pocket sprung mattress and it is so much more supportive and because its got springs it pushes you up when you move. Amazing!
I have a memory foam mattress too, sometimes I wake up with awful pain in my hips and have to get up. Really hope you get better soon and manage to get medication from your GP that actually brings you some relief. Sending love, light and gentle hugs. Becky xx
I found a memory form made my pain worse in places ..i also find a blow up bed really comfortable.when the pain is really high i sleep on one for a few nights I find it very helpful with easing the pain ..
