Unexpected outcomes after ovarian PRP injection

hope you are enjoying the Easter weekend!

I wonder if any of you had similar experience.

I’ll turn 40 years old end of September and my AMH and AFC is quite low. My partner sperm is fine.

We decided to start our first IVF treatments with a clinic in Barcelona which suggested to have ovarian PRP injections before starting IVF to improve the eggs quantity and quality.

This was done end of February. My AMH on the day of the procedure was 2.5 pmols and the AFC was 9.

As per protocol, after a month, on day 2 of my period, I had blood tests and scan. My AMH decreased to 1.0 pmols, the oestradiol is a bit high and AFC was 5, they also found a cyst full of blood in one ovary which was not there the month before. My Ginae said it might be a residual from my previous period and that it may happen in some months there are not the ideal conditions to start stimulation.

I meant to start the first stimulation but have been postponed to next month. If in the next scan the cyst is still there I have to start the pill.

Now, I was not expecting a miracle after PRP but my situation has got much worst! I am shocked! What have they done? I didn’t even start the real IVF treatments and it looks like everything is going wrong. I am stressed out

Anyone in the same situation or someone can who can help to understand?

I noticed my egg collection was the worst it had been with PRP. I get IVF treatment related cysts too.

I’m not sure that the research is there with PRP yet… they did tell me it would have had a greater affect if I was younger, (no kidding, Sherlock).

I’m about to start treatment in Spain also. It’s all one big expensive experiment, and we’re essentially the test subjects. I am yet to hear any positive stories about PRP in IVF.

However, the subsequent round after it was the best I’d had yet for numbers, but worst for quality.
