Just wanted to know any of you experienced cyst after faild IVF?
I still have lower abdominal pain (it’s like mild period cramps) and a little bloated since last month, exactly 4weeks today. Done my scan and water sample last months and they said all looks clear. Had my period on 4th which was on time and for the first time in my life I had a very mild cramp! Made up with that tbh! But I still suffering that pain so went to Gp this morning she said it might be cyst so she referred me to hospital for another ultrasound. I called the gynaecology department to see when they can give me an app and they said it’s gonna be around 5 to 6 weeks! That’s a joke honestly.
So I think I have to go private clinic as it’s an emergency and I can’t suffer for another 5 weeks. Is it common to get cyst after faild ivf? I'm so nervous and scared at the moment. X

Hi Anna, sorry to see you're having these problems after all of the other stuff you've had going on. I can't offer any advice or experience, but I just wanted to say I'm thinking of you and wish you well. I hope you can get sorted soon. Xx
I have had a reoccurring cyst since my last ICSI cycle. I don’t think it’s related to IVF however I do think it may have instigated them as I never had an issue beforehand. I have had the same symptoms as you, I am noticeably psychically bloated all of the time which is odd for such a small cyst (2cm) I was also experiencing chronic abdominal pains therefore I had two scans, one emergency via my dr and one via my clinic as I had a chemical pregnancy they had to check everything was clear. I am now on the waiting list for a laparoscopy but I think that was more me pushing to have it as I have concerns I may have undiagnosed endometriosis.
I think if your experiencing pain and still feeling unwell/bloated I would go back to the gp and ask for an emergency referral and hopefully you will be seen a bit quicker xx
Hi Rose, I had an scan month a go and they didn’t find anything but since then I’m still suffering it’s so strange. I’ll go back to GP today as I can’t wait for 5 weeks! My pain is constant so it’s really hard for me to do my daily life/activity. Hope it’s not something bad. Thanks for your message and hope yours get sorted soon xx
It’s so worrying isn’t it! When did you last have your cycle? My pains seem to much worse during ovulation/period. Odd this is i can’t sneeze or cough without bending over because if feels like something is popping around my right ovary... strange!
It’s terrible! I hate my life at the moment. I had my period on 4th which was on time and I’m near my ovulation. Strange thing for me was I didn’t have too much pain this time I mean period pain!
Omg your pain looks worse than mine😔 I really hope you get better soon🤞🏻
They called me from my Gp the dr said she will contac clinic to let them know it’s an emergency but she said it might takes about a week or two!
Hi Anna00. Ovarian cysts are quite common whether we have had treatment or not and never need any treatment. However, they shouldn’t cause pain, so there is a possibility that if it is large enough, it may need draining. Try not to worry as it will get sort3d out. Thinking of you. Diane
Hi DianeArnold. I still not sure if it’s a cyst or anything else but my dr said it’s a possibility that it’s a cyst. But I had this pain last month and they couldn’t find anything it’s a bit strange. Thanks for the message x
Hi Anna there are many different types of cysts, it’s not uncommon for us to get cysts which come and go each month and can cause some abdominal pain, most of us don’t even realise they’re there until we get scanned.
I have 1 which was measuring a whopping 7cm on a scan then 2 weeks later was down to 2cm.
It’s probably not the ivf which has caused them they’ve probably always come and gone but before you may have just thought it discomfort related to periods, just with the ivf your aware of much more that’s going on in there!
I think if they scan you they will only really be able to measure the cyst and if you go back for multiple scans they may be able to tell you what kind of cyst it is, wouldn’t think you need to pay privately for that unless it’s really concerning you. When you begin your next round of ivf they will scan regularly to monitor the size and type of cysts and advise you but until then I wouldn’t worry (I know sometimes it’s much easier said than done!)
Sorry to hear about your failed cycle ❤️ good luck with your journey xx
Hi hun, I have this pain since last month but the couldn’t find anything on my scan which I’ve done on 16th of feb,it’s a bit strange tbh. I’m just scared in case if it’s something more important than just a cyst. I searched in google and it said sometimes cysts can turn to ovarian cancer if they don’t get treated. And also I don’t think it’s normal to have constant pain 24/7. My follow up app is in next 3weeks.
Thanks for the message and good luck to you too ❤️xx
My god if we diagnosed with google we’d all have 24hours to live!!
I live with endometriosis so forget what it’s like to not have permanent pain! Get back to your gp if your not happy and keep on at them. Fingers crossed xx
called me from the GP she said she will call them to do it as an emergency but it might takes a week or more! What kind or emergency is that! She said because I had an scan last month and it was ok so probably it’s not something important, I hope so. My dr thinks I might have endo he offerd me a laparoscopy.
Our life is so hard tbh we deserve a big medal xx
Anna- four rounds of unsuccessful clomid aggravated my undiagnosed endometriosis. It was that caused constant pelvic pain which led to my laparoscopy and diagnosis of endometriosis . I wonder if the ivf with all the hormones has flared any endometriosis you might have. Just a thought xoxo
Honestly jess I was thinking about it last night, I never had cyst or any kind of problem but since I’ve done my first cycle I have all kind of pain and problem so defo there is something related to all the hormones. They didn’t find anything on my last scan and 4 weeks later I still suffering constant pain, this is not right. I don’t even know I’ll do the ivf again or not as my health is on the diffrent level since I’ve done it. Hope your ok xoxo
Yeah it isn’t normal to be in so much pain- pain is an indication of something not being ok and should be investigated. Definitely have the laparoscopy to rule/diagnosis & treat endometriosis- that can cause pelvic pain.Hopefully the lap will find the reason for your pain.
Perhaps the GP can prescribe you something to ease the pain you are whilst you await further tests. Really hope they find the cause of your pain soon - it’s horrible being in pain. Know that one do well- my pain is so bad at times I’m looking forward to my surgery!! xoxo
Unfortunately GPs aren’t very knowledgeable over women’s health issues- you’re better off talking to your fertility doctor. Clear scans don’t mean nothings wrong. I’m sure your fertility doctor will get to the bottom of it soon xoxo
You’re right they really don’t have enough knowledge, I alway wonder do they treat themself the same as treat us! Defenitly not. My follow up is on 5th of April so have to wait 3weeks. Hope they sort out yours soon xoxo
