Is it worth taking extra vitamin C?

Hi everyone, I am planning to do Medicated FET in January and wondered if anyone could please give me some advice.

Is it worth taking extra vitamin C?

I am now taking the following supplements.

- Proceive

- extra Vitamin D (2000 IU)

- Optibac (two a day)

I’m going to start taking these few weeks before a transfer day.

- Vitamin E (400 IU = 268mg)

- Proceive Omega 3

- Vaginal probiotics (Canesflor/Intra Fresh Plus)

Proceive contains 150mg vitamin C but do you think it is better to take extra vitamin C during treatment to boost chance?

I looked it up on Google and it seems 500mg-1000mg vitamin C is good, but has anyone taken extra Vitamin C and got pregnant?

If so, when and how much did you take?

Thank you for your help!

I take 1000mg a day up until the day before egg collection. 500mg is in my ovum and then I take 500mg additional.

I’ve had 3 positive pregnancy tests.. all miscarriages but they’ve all been from frozen transfers. I don’t take that much vitamin c when i’m preparing for FET I just have what ever is in my pre natal (I take cytoplan pregnaplan post transfer) xx

I’m so sorry to hear what happened to you. It must have been tough. Sending hugs.

Thank you for your advice! I’ll stick with pre natal as well then since I’m preparing for FET🙂

I didn't take any extra vitamin C. I took exactly what you are taking (minus the vitamin C) and currently 16 weeks pregnant from my medicated FET. 😊

Thank you! It’s good to know that my supplement list (minus the vitamin C) may work!

And huge congrats on your pregnancy 😊

If you feel like you need more vitamin C, getting it from food like oranges, berries, and peppers is a great option. Wishing you so much luck with your transfer! xx

Thank you for your advice!

Yes, I have started feeling that I don’t need extra vitamin C pills and getting vitamin C from food is more natural.

Thank you for your kind words❤️

I always consult with my doctor, especially when it comes to the brands of vitamins, because bioavailability is so important. For higher doses, like 1000 IU, it’s particularly recommended to discuss the duration of use with a doctor and ensure your kidneys are healthy before starting.
