First cycle, scan on Monday

hi everyone,

I’ve only recently joined this site and it is so helpful reading all of your experiences. I am currently in the middle of my first cycle. I am 38, never been pregnant, and my AMH in January was 3.1. My partner has an 18 year old daughter from a previous relationship.

I’m not sure what sort of protocol I’m on…I wonder if someone could tell me?! Basically I had 11 days of Norethisterone, then after the bleed I started Meriofert 300mg daily then on the fifth day of taking Meriofert I started Ganirelix 25mg in the mornings too. I am due to have a blood test and scan on Monday 26th August, with potential egg collection on Wednesday 28th.

I’m feeling nervous just like most people. I have been stressed since starting the meds as my partner has been very unsupportive and basically indicated to me at that point that he is only going ahead with IVF for me. So I've found it quite stressful managing the practicalities as well as feeling unsupported at home and like I can’t talk to him about it. If it is successful, I’m sure he will be very happy as he is a brilliant dad to his daughter.

Anyway I’m so glad I found this site, and if anybody could tell me what sort of protocol I’m on that would be good as I’m not entirely sure!!

Hi there, I've completed my first cycle in June and I totally sympathise, it's hard and scary but you have a community here to support you. I hope it goes well and shout if you need any advice xx

Thank you! Had scan this morning and nurse was very pleased…I’m not sure of the exact numbers but she said I had three growing at 21, and a few others between 20 and 17. So the egg collection is going ahead on Wednesday. Another hurdle passed…onto the next one now.xx

thanks swimming 💞 I had 11 eggs retrieved and 7 have fertilised. Transfer is booked for Monday so hoping that a few last until then 🤞🏽 Currently reading up on Embryo Glue which has been offered…have you heard of it? Xx

How did you get on? I'm also first ever time and start my sniffers next week then onto 375 meriofert. I literally feel nauseous about the process 😭 xx

ahhh I know it’s so overwhelming isn’t it with all the different instructions and dates they give you. Just get through one day at a time. Once you’ve done the first injection you will be fine. I almost looked forward to doing the injections after a couple of days! There is something quite satisfying about it!

I am due to officially test myself tomorrow but I couldn’t resist testing earlier. I am testing as positive 🥳 I can’t quite believe it.
