Getting back on this wild journey in a few weeks time for EC #3. Having had x4 failed transfers over the course of x2 ECs. (Had my last transfer in June, will have had two natural periods since then).
For this next EC they are trying something different with my protocol and I’ll be having Gonal F AND another STIM drug both injections on the same day, I can’t remember the name of the other STIMS drug but apparently it’s good for helping to boost egg quality. I’ve previously been on Meriofert and I just don’t seem to stimulate well on it and I’m classed as a ‘slow responder’ My first EC I was on 375 responded ‘well’ got 3 blasts but then my second EC was on 450 and got 1 day 3 to transfer. So they are scrapping Meriofert for me and trying this new approach. I’m excited to try this new protocol but also about nervous!
Anyone else had a switch up of drugs and it’s helped? Or doing a higher dose and that’s made a difference? I’ve just turned 38, but actually feeling in a better headspace. I’ve also lost a song and a half since June so I’m hoping that may help egg quality but not sure if it has any impact on that, nonetheless I feel better (I was eating my feelings, sure we’ve all been there!) x

My third round they added testosterone gel and I took coq10 300mg 3 times a day for a few months before starting got 19 eggs 7 of which made it to blastocyst. Previous cycles got 7 and 6 eggs and only one made it to early blastocyst. Was on 350 overleap and 150 meriofert for 2 and 3rd cycle. The maximum dose.
Thanks wow that’s a great yield! I thought the maximum dose for Meriofert was 475? Or is 475 the maximum dose for any drug combination if you take it singularly or two together? X
I had a worse result when I switched to meriofert and fostimon this cycle having previously done ovaleap and menopur. I think meriofert and fostimon just didn't work well for me. Perhaps it is the same for you. I read that some people just don't respond well to some drugs so it is definitely worth trying something different. I will be switching back to ovaleap and menopur next time. I am not sure why this new consultant wanted to do something different when ovaleap and menopur had worked for me but I guess she wanted to try something she thought might work better.
