2nd failed FET

Hello everyone,

I've had 2nd fail FET in May.

Both embryos are good quality and I'm 31 years old without any issues (at least doc didn't find anything yet)

It's frustrating as I know they never implanted since I always have BFN on the testing date.

I've started to have pink/brown discharge from Day 3-4 for first transfer and Day 6-7 for second one with cramps and back hurt.

Could anyone provide any advice what kind of test I should ask my consultant to do before we try again? Hysteroscopy/ERA/Immune blood test, which one is better to help or improve the success rate?🙏🙏

Thank you XX❤️

I would ask your consultant about recurring implantation failures. The most common tests they will offer are blood test for immune and a hysteroscopy to take a small sample from your uterus lining. That will determine whether you are prone to infection, if there is evidence of infection the environment was not ideal for embryo to implant. If they find nothing like my case, I was given a choice of prevention for immune protocol meaning blood thinning support (Clexane and baby aspirin). However if I were you I would talk to them about the discharge, the less colour the better. In some cases it didn’t impact the implantation but in my case it mean my progesterone level was low (hence I bled and my period came early than expected). Progesterone is to stop the AF coming. And I added Lubion injection, for both cycles I had Lubion I did not bleed at all.

There are other tests ofc, but these two are the basic and easy to do. Hope that helps you and good luck for the next one!

Thank you for your advice, this is really helpful!!! Feel this is the first time that someone understands the situation I'm having. ❤️

Hi! From what you are saying, your period came quite early after the transfer. Did they test your progesterone levels before or on the day of the transfer? If not, I would definitely push for both. My first FET didn't work but I did insist they test progesterone on the day of transfer even though my clinic doesn't do it routinely. It was on the low side, so they increased the dose. For the second FET, I asked to have the progesterone tested two days before transfer and on the day - low again despite being on a higher dose, so they ended up doubling it compared to the dose I had for my first FET. This round worked and currently pregnant. I am convinced the progesterone helped a lot. I also had baby aspirin added (two edged sword because I did develop a large subchorionic hematoma, the risk of which is significantly increased by taking aspirin) and took oral and vaginal probiotics in the run up to the transfer. Very best of luck with the next round!

second this! My clinic tests on transfer day and each time my progesterone was low so I’d get called back for an urgent progesterone injection (on top of the pessaries), although from what I’ve read if the embryo is already transferred this is already too late. It wasn’t until my FOURTH embryo transfer that they were more organised and started me on extra progesterone injections well before transfer day and beyond and that was the embryo that finally stuck 🥰 fingers crossed this is what is happening with you as it’s quite and easy fix

It's not really period, but very small amount and it stopped after 2-3 days so the clinic kept telling me that it's normal, feel you guys might be right about progesterone, they only tested me the day before transfer, will mention this to the consultant as well. Thank you!! ❤️

I heard that excess progesterone won’t do any harm that why despite the fact I was in Lubion injection I still had pessaries and they increased it to 3 times a day. It helped a lot with bleeding during 2WW. A tiny amount (like a drop of pink) is acceptable as it is a sign of implantation but if I can avoid it I would as often than not it is the contraction before the period that causes bleeding. My clinic did not offer the progesterone test on the day of transfer but I insisted after 2 failed round so they tested me a day before and ofc I was on a slightly low side hence all the prevention. Prevent, prevent, prevent if you can. I went for both Lubion and Clexane and it worked for me. These are the things they can offer as add-on if they don’t find any evidence
