Hi. First time posting. I finished Norethisterone on Saturday (that was fun!). I am due to start my stimulation injections this Friday night. (As long as I have a bleed by then.) I will be on Meriofert 225mg and I was wondering if anyone else is on this amount and what their side effects are, if any?
I'm 37, FSH 7.1,AMH 8.9, AFC 18.
Thank you in advance 😀

I’ve always had Men*pur in the past but this time due to shortages was on Meri*fert. They are basically the same drug, just made by different cmpys (Merio is from the US) My response was about the same as always & I didn’t really get any side effects (although this was my 7th round so my body is pretty used to the drugs by now)
I’ve only used Meri*fert this 1 time but in my earlier cycles using different drugs I did get some mild side effects (bloating, ovary aches & pains). Stims side effects generally correspond with how many follicles you are growing ie the more follicles the more side effects. I only grow a few therefore I only get mild effects. The injections can bruise yes, you’ll find they don’t bruise every time but you do get some. They are not normally too big/bad though.
I was on Meriofert, 300 IU. I did not really have side effects of the drug, but towards the end felt “heavy” and bloated around pelvis area, but I suppose that is to be expected. But I get pretty good. Did not get many bruises, maybe only a couple, and the ones I got was really small and went in a couple of days! I did not find it a “bad” injection and quickly got “used” to it.
I wish you all the best with the stimulation and sending hope for your round!! 🧡💫
Thank you for your reply. We have been told that my partner's sperm analysis was fine with morphology a mild issue. My vit D levels were 72, TSH 2 when I had my day 4 bloods back in January of this year. I don't know what my B12 levels are, do you recommend getting that blood test done? And what immuoogical tests do you mean? Thank you in advance.
As our 1st IVF round is being funded by our NHS,I will speak to the clinic and see what they are willing to do. Thank you so much for your input,it's hugely appreciated.
Hi Lucy. I can’t imagine any clinic recommending these types of tests prior to your first cycle so I wouldn’t stress about them! Wishing you loads of luck! Xx
