The nurse saw a healthy foetus but had a black blob attached to it. She referred me to the Dr who looked and scanned and is 90% positive that it was a conjoined twin where one has died and the other still presently living. I have an appt at the EPU later for another scan and discuss the future. It’s bascially a choice of waiting for it to die or abort but it won’t survive either way.
I’m devastated obviously.
Well after one scan at the hospital and one at the feral medicine unit in London I can confirm just one healthy Fetus with no sign of a twin!!!
Over the moon is an understatement!
Thank you for all your kind messages

Hi, thanks for the caring messages.
I’m driving myself crazy with worry now in case the other scans were wrong.
I can’t see how three scans at the ivf clinic could see a black spot and the hospital and fetal clinic can only see one baby..I’m dreading my 12 week scan now in case they say “oh no ,there is a dead conjoined twin in there”
They did a stomach scan at the fetal clinic where the others had all been trans vaginal, so at least they got a different angle/view.

It must be so hard but I would be exactly the same as you, trying to focus on being positive but secretly my brain would be getting more and more anxious about the scan. I really wish you all the best. And good luck staying calm and positive. Have you been doing mindfulness? Xxx

I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks like this! No I haven’t tried mindfulness, but I think I do need something to keep me calm.
Is there anything you can recommend?

If you look in Amazon music (if you have it) there are loads to try. I find that different ones work better for different people. It's kind of usually like the words from yoga but focusing on breathing rather than moving. I fall asleep quite often when listening to them bit that can't be a bad thing either right? I think there are loads on you tube too. Good luck xx
