*Sensitive* Bleeding at 12 weeks pregnant

Hello! After 3 rounds of IVF and 7 embryo transfers we finally had a BFP at the end of Feb and this is the first time we ever made it to 12 weeks. I had my dating scan last Thursday and everything seemed fine, but today I have woken up to some bleeding. It was only when wiping and now it's turned brown. I called the hospital and they said it could be a withdrawal bleed from stopping progesterone last Thursday and if it doesn't get worse to just wait until Monday and have it checked at the early pregnancy clinic then. Has anyone had this before? Do I need to panic and call them again?

I did after stopping progesterone and like you was petrified. I started spotting at about 12-14 weeks ish and it was very off and on though.

I had one day where it was heavier and red at 13 weeks and they scanned me at EPU with no cause found baby bobbing about and is still wriggly now at 32 weeks.

I had some swabs and blood tests at the hospital with nothing found.

It’s worth checking with your local EPU if it gets worse and Monday because loads of things cause bleeding from infections, to cervix being annoyed or could just be the progesterone dip.

There is a pregnancy after infertility board where lots of people join for advice after Ivf too which hopefully will be helpful to you in the coming weeks.

hiya, i had unexplained bleeding for a day just after my eating scan. It was bright red and on wiping only and cus it was the weekend and we were away i couldn’t get an appt at EPU. I was still on progesterone until 16 weeks so wasn’t that either - in the end i booked a private scan, saw bubba v happy and sonographer confirmed no sign of bleeding around baby so we were happy. My midwife said so long as not accompanied by cramping and not filling pads it’s not too concerning. We think that it might have been a small bleed from placenta taking over - hope that helps! Xx

Thank you so much. It really does. I am bleeding a bit more today so I'm going to call the hospital again and see if they'll see me. Still not filling pads or cramping but proper panicking...

Me too. 3 x IVF babies and bled with all of them. Every time I thought the worst. I bled throughout on and off and quite heavy at some points.

Hi Girls

I have just seen this and I related myself with something that happened today.

When you say you bled, did any of you had enough bleed to fill a whole pad? And some clots?

I think I had my first miscarriage this morning, I woke up feeling something coming out, there was already blood in bed. It lasted for like 2-3 hours, then it started to fade itself.

I am due to go for a scan tomorrow but… not very confident. This was a FET.

It’s devastating.

Hello,I never filled a pad but I did have some small clots when wiping. My bleeding stopped after 3-4 days. I went for a scan to the EPU and the nurse said everything was fine. Baby was moving around and had grown since the previous scan. Apparently sometimes it can be related to the pregnancy moving up from your pelvis, which happens between 12-14 weeks. Fingers crossed everything goes ok with your scan!! All the best xx
