This really is a never ending rollercoaster. After bleeding at 5 and 6 weeks we had nothing for a few weeks, had the 7 week scan everything looked great and then again last Thursday out of no where I came home and had bright red blood and a clot. I thought it was all over then and there. Called my local EPU and they arranged for me to go in on Friday morning for a scan. I was 8 weeks exactly that day so they did an abdominal scan (my first ever!) and all looked great. I have been feeling ok since still no pain but had some more spotting yesterday. Not bright but more of a dark red. I am constantly on edge wondering if things will be ok.
The nurse at the EPU told me that your chance of miscarriage drops dramatically once you hit 8 weeks and have seen a healthy heartbeat etc but still there must be a reason for bleeding. I just want it to be ok.
Have been reading up about the utrogestan pessaries and wonder if they are causing the bleeding? Im on 4 a day until 12 weeks.
Any one else had similar problems around this stage?
Thanks. xxx

Ah god it's such a worry, I would phone your clinic to see what they think about the pessaries, because if you are taking them vaginally that could be causing the problem xxx
Hi Bluebell1. so sorry to hear this, but unfortunately it happens and we can't always find out why. I think I would look at your scan picture and be reassured that your little one is firmly fixed. Hopefully these little scares will settle down and stop. Could even be due to progesterone use. Take care, and I will be thinking of you. Diane
Im so sorry to hear you're going through this. I know when i had my bleeding it was so stressful so I can sympathize with what you're going through. I agree with others contact your clinic and hopefully they can put your mind at ease. Some women do bleed in early pregnancy and have healthy babies. I think the fact you're not in pain is a positive sign. Look after yourself xoxo
Thanks Jess. Yes I'm trying to stay positive as Ive not had any cramping yet. Hope you're ok. xx
My bleeding was on and off (mostly on) from week 6 to week 9, they also couldn't find why I was bleeding. They did keep repeating that baby had a strong heartbeat and I wasn't in any kind of pain etc so didn't seem overly concerned. I know how worrying and stressful it is, also try using your pessaries rectally I found this much easier and keep the front clear so I could fully monitor the bleeding xxx
Its so worrying isn't it. Just the unknown and waiting for the next scan! I might consider taking the pessaries rectally as haven't tried that before. xx
Hello dear. It is so unfortunate, that you are going through that. It's hard to deal with. Many times the reason of the bleeding is not known until they carry out further examinations. In these cases I have heard that they recommend to have rest. And follow all directions of the doctor. If you continue with bleeding, see the doctor again.
I wish you all the best and hope everything goes well with your pregnancy.
Yikes I can't really offer you any advice I'm just so sorry to read you are in such a rollercoaster at the moment. I will keep everything crossed for you and please keep us updated. Big hugs
