welcome people’s thoughts and comments on the above? We’ve had 4 failed transfers and unexplained in fertility. Graded 1C’s transferred with each transfer. MC bloods undertaken and everything came back ok. Currently having AMH levels checked as not been done for 2.5 years and nearly 40. When spoke to clinic about next cycle and what else they could do and the answer was nothing apart from Endo scratch which I’ve had previously. They won’t do an hysteroscopy and thinking of paying private at a cost of £3.5k 🙈 this is a final cycle and then our IVF journey is over so I want to cover all bases before I close the book ☹️

hysteroscopy thoughts?
Hi Sdegirl, I’m sorry your are on this rollercoaster and I’m wishing you all the best for your upcoming cycle.
I had a hysterscopy in December and I found it beneficial. They didn’t find anything during the procedure but I found it reassuring and I’m so glad I had it done.
My nurses were able to look at my scan photos in advance and indicated that they didn’t think anything would be found. (Although I have heard stories of other people saying the same thing and then something appearing)
It sounds like an expensive treatment, hopefully you’ll be able to find somewhere a little cheaper if you do decide to go ahead.
Wishing you all the very best x
Hello Sdegirl, I am so sorry you've not yet achieved your dream, please keep believing, you're doing great in trying to explore all the options! Have you thought about adding PGT-A testing of your embryos as chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo account for a large number of miscarriages especially as you're approaching 40 and beyond? Or doing the EMMA, ALICE and ERA tests? Did you do a thrombophilia panel and thyroid check as part of your miscarriage bloods? I had mine done via the NHS and the consultant remarked that no action was required, however, when I had them repeated only a year later at my IVF clinic they noted elevated TSH levels and TSH antibodies which I am now treating with Levothyroxine (to keep TSH below 2.5) and steroids for the antibodies during transfer and until 10 weeks of pregnancy. I had my hysteroscopy done in January and also found this very reassuring as they could rule out things like fibroids, polyps, scar tissue and adhesions, all of which can impact implantation. Wishing you all the best for your next round! X
Hi, my private UK hysteroscopy 2 years ago cost a lot less than that, £1500 including consultants fee, though I didn't need biopsy which would have cost more. I only had local anaesthetic, and it wasn't the nicest thing but it was bearable. Was reassuring as fibroids and polyps seen on scans found to be not a problem on hysteroscopy. Went on to have successful DEivf.
Best wishes
After two early losses on fresh transfers I grilled my consultant on further tests and investigations and all he could suggest was a 3D aqua scan, but when I said I'd had a hysteroscopy years ago he said that was the 'gold standard' diagnostic procedure and if that had been clear there was no point doing a 3D scan or repeating the hysteroscopy. I did look into the costs in the meantime and it was about £1.5k local anaesthetic and £3k with general anaesthetic. It is also available on the NHS (that's where I had mine done) but the waits times were very long. Maybe if the hysteroscopy is too expensive privately the 3D scan maybe an option?
fly to Greece and get it done for like 800 euros 😉 I can recommend my doctor. I’ve done hysteroscopy twice and in both instances found major scar tissue I presume from previous miscarriages and cleaned me out and then had successful pregnancy and one implantation (one led to miscarriage but for other factors) here if you need more info xxx
