*SENSITIVE* Hope after early loss

Hi all

Unfortunately we had an early loss last week after 5ab fresh transfer. We were having steady faint lines from 8dp5dt to 11dp5dt and 12dp5dt which were both a lot darker.

Then came to test day on 13dp5dt whereby the line was the fainest its been. I was in denial and blamed the cheap clinic test , rang the clinic and sent photos but they were still happy with the other tests so booked in for 7 week scan.

The follwing day i of course did a test and the line was so faint followed by another even fainter line. My worst nightmare was becoming true so went in for HCGtests. My first one was 7!! And second one on Friday was just 2! I knew something had been not right. Always trust your instinct.

Anyway we have been away to Lakes and processing it well. I am just so glad i fid the tests and got booked in for the bloods. Why do clinic not do most clinics not do the Betas as standard it would save so much heartache for people.

We have one little frozen embryo left grade 3BB i believe ( average ive been told) and we want to get FET done as soon as they will let us which is looking like 2 weeks after first proper period secind week of may.

Anybody been in a similar situation and had a successful pregnancy straight after an early loss?

Looking for messages of hope 😊🥰

I am really sorry you went through this. Early losses are incredibly hard. You did the right thing by listening to your instincts and pushing for blood tests. It is frustrating that some clinics do not offer betas as standard.

Wishing you lots of strength and hope for the future. xx

yep we did. He’s going to be 5 in a few weeks. The transfer after that was also successful and he is 2 years old. I thought that we would never be that lucky for it to work again, let alone both times, but here we are! XXX

This fills me with so much hope. I am trying to stay positive and just led on on sofa contemplating our future. How soon after did you get pregnant ? Did you fo anything different after the failed one? I am thinking about acupuncture.

This is truely fantastic news for you and not once but TWICE. X

I think they said I had to have one period then we started on the cycle after. So not long at all, it wasn’t months, I wanted to start asap. Second time, thinking it wouldn’t happen, I ate what I wanted and had dirty takeaways. I didn’t drink at the time and I’m not one for the gym so wasn’t doing that either. I took prenatal vitamins and that was it. I also don’t eat veg and I’m a fussy eater. I did acupuncture for all three, only before or after transfer. We used embryo glue for both my boys, no idea if that helped, they didn’t recommend it, we just thought we only had two shots left so the glue was cheaper than a whole new go at ivf+icsi which at the time was about £10k+.

We were lucky 3 times, and as much as it doesn’t feel like it, so are you, we took it as at least we COULD get pregnant. So keep the hope! Onto the next one and I hope that uterus goes balls to the walls for you!!! ❤️❤️

I love this reply, you are so positive ans that is how i like to be. I just lost myself for a little while but i am back and more determind than ever!

I am doing walking everyday and eating a lot of eggs and avacados.

I am planning on resting after this next transfer as i didnt really on last one. At least for a day or two.

I do have a good feeling this time with my 3BB (baby) as they say....

We shall soon see.

Thanks again and fingers crossed for the balls to the walls 🤪😝😉

I’m so sorry for your experience. We had a similar early loss on our 5th transfer, it was so early. I was amazed it was even possible after many years. Although hard, it gave me some hope. We had 3 grade 3 embryos left and transferred 2 on our 6th transfer. This time one stuck and is now 16 weeks. I only ever had these 2 positives since taking progesterone injections. I wasn’t going to do acupuncture as it had never worked and I’d given up on it, but thought what the hell and went for the before/after same day transfer treatment (With a few hours either side due to distance from the clinic.) I believe it was mainly random embryo genetics (I don’t think the grade matters much) and progesterone that helped us this time. Sending so much support x

Thanks for sharing. I was on progesterone but think i nay needed to be on higher dose. I was on the pesseries twice a day but think the injections may be better this time. Were they a lot more costly?

I think its upwards of £1000 but depends on the clinic. Apparently some people are able to get it cheaper from Asda pharmacies rather than buying at clinics so worth checking around. Some NHS clinics offer its as standard but I think thats rare. Some clinics test for progeterone after a transfer too so worth discussing with the doctors if they think it'd help

Thanks. Yes ive heard asda do meds cheap. I got a 2 cycle deal with access fertility but didnt include frozen transfer meds so will be looking at our options. Either natural or natural medicated and definately through asda.

❤️❤️ I had so much doubt because of the grading! Now I think you don’t know the grade in a “no intervention” pregnancy. If it’s good enough to freeze it’s good to go! Good luck! You’ll need it when this one sticks! 😂 xxx

Hello, so sorry to hear of your loss. Not a story of hope (yet) but am in the same situation as you. My last transfer (no5) was a chemical pregnancy. Am due to start my next FET in the next 2 weeks! Best of luck to you x

we did our first transfer and it ended in early loss, we went straight away again after period and transferred 2 embryos which didn’t work and then we went again and had another singleton transfer which is now a happy healthy 15 week pregnancy! We still have frozen left as well for the future. Please keep going! IVF is a numbers game and every transfer you have, the more likely it is to result in a baby!

Thank you and congrats on your pregnancy! Bet your are over the moon 🥰And you are so brave to continue over and over..i think it takes someone very special to go down this ivf journey. Its filled with heartache and joy and definately makes you stronger!! I wish you all the best too and a happy healthy pregnancy xx

firstly I am so sorry you are going through this. I had a loss at 7 weeks and similar just wanted to compete a FET ASAP. We went away for a week while I started my medication and had the embryo transfer in the October. Currently on holiday in Cornwall with my 8month old son.

I’m convinced the closeness from loss to cycle was our winning formula, as I had a loss at 16 weeks in 2021 and had to leave a lot longer due to delivering her. Didn’t try again until 8 months later and we went through 4 more cycles and two years before we got pregnant again (the 7 week loss).

Sending lots of love and hope your way

So sorry to hear this happened to you but also really happy you got your happy ending and didnt give up! Reseliance is something that helps in these difficult journeys thats for sure!!

How long was it before your 7 week loss and trying again if yoy dont mind me asking? I have just been bleeding for 6 days but the clinic dont class it as a period so have to go again after ny next period wmso thinking will be close to 2 months by time ive had period, built up uterus and transferred. But suppose we are very used to waiting now like you. You are an inspiration and thank you for taking the time to comment xxx

My loss happened mid August. I bled after that, had my normal period in the September and then started my medication on my October period for the FET. While 2 months sounds and feels a long time, it really seemed to go quick and at least gave me some grieving time etc
