Hysteroscopy Results

Hi, Not sure if anyone can help or give a little bit more information but I recently had a Hysteroscopy in January and has taken 7 weeks to get the results (they had to get a 2nd opinion)

Basically they have come back to say the found a Placental site nodule. Not much else was said on the call apart from me going for a blood test to check HcG.

I was asked if there was any possibly I could have been pregnant when I had the procedure, answer no. I said could it be to do with our failed IVF in August last year, answer no that was too long ago. But Google suggests this could be from months/ years ago.

Anyone got any advise on Placental site nodules, apparently very uncommon.

Due to start our next cycle shortly and no mention of treatment for this PSN

Xx

The finding of a PSN isnt that common but the good thing is it wouldnt cause you not to conceive. It is just what it says that it is....its just caused by a previous pregnancy. They would have had a look under the microscope to check if there was anything untoward which obviously there hasnt been so it's really just an incidental finding.xx

Thank you for your reply ❤When I asked the doctor I said could it be to do with the failed ivf cycle in August last year and the answer was no it was too long ago but reading online it could be from months/years ago.

Do you know if this is ok to just leave then as I hadn't been advised on any treatment for it. Due to start next round of IVF next month. Feel I need another talk with clinic before we start so I know a lot more about this. Xx

I would imagine it's from a previous pregnancy....I've just had a quick glance and you have a little one already so most likely from then. It is ok to leave, there isnt any treatment as far as I'm aware and so long as it was pathologically normal and your hCG is ok then I'm sure its fine but I'm not an expert! You could perhaps call and ask your Gynae secy to come back to you with any answer if you're worried?!xx

Ah thank you. Really appreciate your reply. Yes we had a little girl in 2018 via ICSI so would make sense if it was from that. They didn't seem to concerned when explaining what they found and endometrium looked normal. Just recommended I have a blood test to check hCG so did that Wednesday and just waiting for results. Suppose it's just to put my mind at rest that everything has been done to give best chance of success again 🤞🏼 xx

Its definitely from an old pregnancy so it makes sense. I'm sure it's all absolutley fine but like I said when they call with your hCG just ask the questions....write them down for that phone call. Best of luck.xxx

I got polyps from the ivf drugs so it probably could have been. They should have done a pregnancy test when you had your procedure and they were very concerned about asking when we last had sex to make sure we weren’t pregnant - so I’m surprised you had to ask.

Thanks for your reply. Very limited details about it all over the phone. Definitely got some more questions to ask them about it before we start next cycle. They asked if I could be pregnant before I went down for hysteroscopy but that was it. Xx

Oh gosh. They nearly didn’t let the girl next to me have her op because she’d had sex too recently. They only let her because she insisted she was infertile and the test was negative. They really didn’t want to do it if there was any chance of pregnancy. Tbh I got no details until the doctor called me up… But he explained it all on the phone and we had to make a decision there and then.
