If I get a negative on OTD do I need to wean off prednisone as I’ve only taken for 2ww plus 5 days before transfer? Fertility clinic says yes but they didn’t prescribe the steroids, but Epsom clinic said no need to wean if under 3 weeks and they prescribed them. Why do the professionals opinions always differ 😫.
Not sure what to do if I get a negative x

I'd say best to wean off them a little. I'm currently on 5mg a day and when I wean off I will take 5 mg every other day for around 5 days then stop. Huge goodluck to you in your tww! ❤️💫🤞
You’re in a bit of a grey zone regarding whether you’re likely to have adverse effects stopping abruptly. It’s quite unpleasant if it happens so better to er on the side of caution. Wishing you so much luck-definitely your time now xx
Hiya hun, thank you 🤞. Really hoping this is our time. Day 5 today and not many symptoms except a few minor tummy twinges, but I’m getting worried as my period would have been due this Sunday. Am not sure what actually stops it coming, the implantation and the oestrogen/ progesterone I suppose?
Yes you’re right, I’m thinking it’s better to err on the side of caution as well if needed. I’m taking 25mg per day. One plus is that my psoriasis has completely cleared up! What kind of adverse side effects can you get if you stop abruptly?
Stopping steroids abruptly can cause an acute deficiency in your natural adrenal hormones, which causes severe drop in blood pressure, major electrolyte disturbances, and in some cases diarrhoea and gut bleeding. It’s not guaranteed to happen, especially on a short course, but it may lead to hospitalisation if it does. So, best avoided!!
Progesterone with backup of oestrogen stops the period (imbalance either way causes bleeding). The 2ww is a bugger for symptoms-easily said but try to relax as much as you can! Xx
