Confused

Has anyone had a negative test on OTD but had no bleeding? If so what was they advised?

My test day is tomorrow however I’ve done several tests and all been negative but still no bleeding.

I have spoken with my clinic and they have said if I have no bleeding but still get a negative they will ask me to re test in a few days?

Has this happened with anyone else? And what results did you get?

Hey hun I'm really sorry for your BFN they are so hard 😥 for all my BFN I dont start a bleed until a few days after I stopped progesterone I think that's the case with most ladies it stops it from showing up which is even more cruel. Im so sorry please look after yourself and go spoil yourself a little bit. Sending bug hugs xx

Thank you for replying, thats why I’m so confused because why would my clinic say that as long as I haven’t bled then it’s still okay and to re test in a few days? If the medication is supposed to stop it why would they say that?🤔

It’s annoying because then it still gives false hope, in the nicest way possible I would just rather have a definitive answer so we can then move forward. Xx

Some women do bleed before OTD even on progesterone but most women dont, but it can happen. I guess the clinic just want to be sure, but I totally get what your saying it seems a bit cruel which is why I love how my clinic just do bloods so there is no waiting around hoping...just causes so much more heartache. I bet you just want to down a bottle of wine but cant 😫 I'm really sorry 😥 xx

Sorry to hear that you also got a negative. You will start bleeding a few days post stoping progesterone... I stoped mine last Friday and got my “period” yesterday x

Clinics always prefer that you only test on OTD for most accurate result. This being said, I would have expected that a faint line would have shown by now if it could have been positive. Sorry for the BFN. The bleed should start once you stop the meds. Xx

My clinic was the same I bled early my first round but second time I didn’t but was asked to retest a few days later when I had a bfn on otd. Like others have said I didn’t then bled until a few days after stopping meds. I think they ask you to retest in case it’s a late implanter. Look after yourself, hope you are doing ok xxx

Like others have said, the progesterone normally holds your period off for most people. I’ve never bled until after I stopped my medication unfortunately.

The reason your clinic will ask you to retest is there is a very small chance you could get a late result. Sounds unlikely but it happened to one of my friends last year. Bfn on OTD, clinic asked her to stay on meds and retest 3 days later and she got a faint positive. She had a healthy pregnancy so it can happen but I think it’s quite rare! Xxx

Interesting posts! I got my bleed on day 28 after period pains for at least a week. I was still taking progesterone when the bleed came. No idea that wasn't usual until now! 🤣 I guess my body really wasn't liking the embryo being onboard with me!

So sorry for your bfn. It happened to me the last time, AF later resume after a couple of days. Just be strong and give yourself a nice treat.

Hi there, I’ve always started bleeding prior to test day but my clinic instruct if you havnt started to bleed on test day which is 13dpt then to test again 2 days later - so hopefully yours is just a last implanted 🌈🌈🌈

I don’t hold any hope all of my previous tests have been negative I took one at 10dp and still negative so I would assume there would be at least a faint line by then? I just wish it wasn’t dragged out so we can then look to move forward and try again 😔 xx

Yeah I know , my test day not until 20th I just want to call the clinic get my review and move on - all tests have been bfn and have bled so it’s defo over but like you say it’s just drags on. So sorry to hear re your bfn, sending you a big hug and hope you find the strength to go again soon. Xxx
