Hello we are currently in Spain doing ivf I was just thinking if it works and we head home to Scotland(Aberdeenshire) How did everyone get the medication? Do you take it home from abroad to do the 12 weeks? We are on prolutex, clexane, cyclogest, prednisone, aspirin and some vitamins. If we buy all of this for 12 weeks it’s about £2000 😩 which if it works is no problem but a huge waste of it doesn’t 🤔 I’m just wondering how everyone else managed. I can’t imagine our gp is much help you can’t get an appointment with them anyway just now. Any advice will be greatly appreciated I’m having a wee panic that we are gonna be stuck 😩 xxx

Hi Boo.When I've done ivf abroad before, I've brought home enough medications to get me a couple of weeks past OTD, then got the clinic to write me a prescription for what else I need.

I've then used Fertility2u website to get the drugs. It's a bit of a faff as the clinic need to email them directly, but it's reliable and medications arrive pretty swiftly. They post them to you. Lots of ladies on here can tell you how to get prescriptions fulfilled in other ways though, maybe asda? Tho I've not tried it.

This way, you might end up spending a bit more at first, but not 12 weeks worth. Although I really hope your cy le is successful.

So I also done Spain to Scotland. The clinic arranged medication through pharmacy 2u and I got it sent to my home, that was enough to get me to test day. They say it is cheaper in Spain and part of me wishes I bought it all when I was out because I had to buy more once I got a bfp and it was pretty expensive to do it in the UK! If you do buy it all in Spain, you can keep any leftovers for more rounds. Like you I didn't want to spend loads of money for nothing, everything is just a gamble!

Good luck! Xx

I ordered my medications (for stimulation cycle) from a pharmacy in Spain Alicante and they posted them to me in the UK, arrived 4-5 days later if I remember correctly. Top-ups from fertility2u 😁 My first frozen transfer I bought all from Spain for 12 weeks 😃 and I used leftovers for my second successful transfer.

Hi Boo. If you have some leftover prescribed medication then bring it back with you. Save the hassle of re ordering stuff. Hope all ends well for you. Diane
