I thought it was 12 weeks but they said they have changed it and its 8 weeks for fresh cycles now at our clinic! Luckily i had a load left so I've just carried on taking one and day and will do until they run out (probably 13 weeks) 😂 im mega anxious after 3 losses but i had no problem when i stopped lubion and dropped to one pessary a day. xx

My clinic was the same. They said your body starts making the hormones on it's own. Xx

My clinic have said 10 weeks too. Although I do have an extra weeks supply so I’m going to carry on taking until 11 weeks next week x

My clinic suggested i stop at 10weeks. i stopped my meds and progesterone shots and started bleeding after 4days. i went back for a scan and found out baby was fine and I went back on my medications and progesterone shots im going to be 13weeks soon and im still on my meds.

Hello,

I'm in fresh cycle 8 weeks pregnant and asked to take progesterone for 4 more weeks may be its different for you. Best way is to ask them for the reason xx

Hi Shia,

I think by week 10 they are pretty sure the placenta is formed and taking over progesterone production.

I was also scared to leave the progesterone so abruptly and as I had some extra, I used it to go reducing slowly (from 3 to 2 pessaries to 1 in a few days). My clinic said it was up to me, but that there was no need.

All the best xxxx

I was advised to stop at 10 weeks as well and everything was fine. Apparently there is no harm in going longer if it causes you stress. I would ask your doctor about it.

I asked my doctor yesterday and he said you will be fine and if you take medication too long it’s harmful for you and he said for everybody it’s different and he believe I don’t need it after 10 weeks but in this site I read everyone taking medications upto 12 weeks so I get worried but I think I will be still scared as I might take one progynova instead of 3 and one pesseries in a day or I might just do according to doctor , v confuse

Please don't worry. The doctors want it to work for you. They are not going to tell you to stop it if it will then end the pregnancy. Best of luck!

Thanks abbey, it’s good to hear and I talked twice to my doctor and he said I don’t need more medication as these hormones are not good and body don’t need it so I will stop them according to doctor and your answer satisfy me a lot

I also panicked so don’t worry! But apparently your body is creating enough at this point to stop! I was totally fine xxx

This is today sharp 10 weeks start today and I lost all the symptoms and normally if I was talking I felt really low and dizzy but today I talked with my neighbour for more than an hour and felt no low or dizzy symptoms and no nausea and I am wondering everything is ok and yet 6 days to stop medication but I am feeling nothing happening inside me 😢

Hi Shia001, from 10 weeks the placenta starts to take over so symptoms do tend to start coming and going. I found they would go for a few days and then come back with a vengeance! Try not to worry xx
