I recently had a failed fresh IVF cycle. They advised me to take Aspirin 75mg as i had a miscarriage with previous IVF. However i found that Aspirin made me overly sensitive and egg retrieval was more painful than usual and as i only had 2 embryos they transferred them 48 hours after egg retrieval but i was still very tender.
So i`m not so sure about Aspirin, but i`m sorry that wasn`t the point of this post. I recently started my period on day 22 of cycle after a few days of spotting and clots -sorry TMI. Has anyone else experienced this?
I was wondering if it`s because i now started DHEA and it may be affecting my cycle? I`m taking 50mg and losing hair like crazy but i will try and persevere.

Hi Nadia. I would doubt that the aspirin you have been taking would be responsible for added discomfor/pain during egg collection, as it should help. The bleed you have had is quite probably a withdraqwal bled following treatment, if it was unsuccessful. It can tak 2-3 months for your cycle to return to what is normal for you. Good luck! Diane
Thanks Diane. With regards to Aspirin they forgot to tell me to stop 2 days prior to egg retrieval and 2 days post. So i think i bled a little more than i would have had i stopped. I will continue with it more off and on, i think for me i`m very sensitive to the Aspirin-covered in bruises. Hence i thought there may have been more clots due to this....but as you said it just is a case of taking time to recover. I`m taking a min of 2 months rest before next round. This cycle came early took me by surprise so i may need longer still...but i`m 43 so i guess i better not take too long...
Hi. Yes, it is best to stop the aspirin before and for a few days after egg colection. Easy mistake to make, but just rest when you can and all should soon settle down. best to check the dose you are on too. Thinking of you. Diane
I would personally stop DHEA, I had terrible side effects including my hair falling out and when I investigated it suggested that was because it was actually too much for my body and it was doing harm not good. I personally would stop straight away or talk to my consultant.
Hi Daisy, yes i `m feeling the same. I think i`ll order some blood tests through medichecks to check what` s going on. I feel like i may have to play around with dosage. I know on 10mg i was fine. I`m 43 with low ovarian reserve so really wanted to try to give it my all for one last round.
