Slow growing or doomed?

Hi everyone, new to this forum.

I am 32, have had three miscarriages in the past year and a half and the last one was a complete molar pregnancy. We have started IVF in hopes of collecting and freezing embryos as I have very low AMH (0.44), FSH was normal.

I started last week, we are at max dose 450 UI Gonal F and Luveris 75. At Baseline, after estrogen priming, I had AFC of 9 (was super happy as usual is 7). After 6 days of stimulation, my eggs are not growing at all, it's as if I'm injecting water. One egg around 10 mm and about 4 others visible, very small. I'm surprised this is going as bad as it is as with IUI and gonal F 100, I always had 2 follicles of 15 mm after 5 days of stimming.

Any thoughts? Why are my follicles not responding at all? Any hope or is my cycle doomed to be canceled? Thank you so much!

I know they like you to have at least one follicle that is 16mm or more - that’s at my clinic anyway.

Have you been put on a short or long protocol, that could also make a difference

For us ladies with low AMH, natural or mild IVF works best. Max stims of Gonal won't do anything other than fry your eggs. So it makes sense you responded better to a lesser dose of stims. I had AMH 0.16 and also felt like I was injecting water as never got more than 1 follicle with an egg in it. Which you get every month without meds anyway. Got pregnant on clomid via IUI but MC. And then got pregnant naturally 19 weeks ago. If nothing is wrong with partner's sperm (no DNA fragmentation etc) and your plumbing works, it would make sense to convert to IUI if you only have 1 follicle. Also check your thyroid, sometimes low AMH goes hand in hand with high TSH. That causes MCs. Important to keep TSH under 2 closer to 1. Good luck, hopefully this one follicle is the one with good egg!

Thank you both for your replies! And congrats on your pregnancy! Had another scan today after 8 days of injections..i now have 2 follicles on the right side (15 and 12 mm) and a few others on both side that are less than 10 mm..Will continue to stim for 2 days until next ultrasound but my Doctor does not think any of the others will be able to catch up...We'll see.Thanks again and best of luck

Hey love I’m in the same boat! I have scan tomorrow after 14 days of stims and clinic said the same thing. I have 2 follicles which were 15 on Friday hoping they have grown and can collect next week! This is so hard isn’t it every scan I’mFilled with so much anxiety about it all being for nothing. Good luck and I hope they keep growing xx

Thanks so much did go well extra follicles snd some have grown! Egg collection booked for Thursday hoping and praying there are some healthy eggs in side! I was so surprised how much progress 5mm in 3 days! Hope things have improved for you have you had a scan recently?x

That's great!! How many follicles have popped up? I have my next ultrasound tomorrow so we'll see. I wish you the best of luck for the retrieval
