Results update -

12 eggs collected

10 fertilised

8 blasts . 1 is poor quality 6CB but the other 7 have now been biopsied for ngs screening

UPDATE -

Thought I’d come back to update incase anyone in the future is asking the same question…..

So the Dr added an extra 2 days to my stims protocol & my follicles went crazy I went from 14 follicles to 20 which has never happened before . Unfortunately by the time we got to egg retrieval the new follicles hadn’t caught up but the Dr still managed to retrieve 12 eggs so now for the long wait to see if any fertilise & make blast.

Has anyone’s follicles been slow to respond after down regulation ? Had a scan yesterday on stim day 7 & I have 14 follicles 4-10mm normally by now the leading follicle would be around 16 with most the others around 12 but I have never done down reg before stims before …. My Dr hasn’t gave my much clue apart from to say we will have another scan tomorrow & see what progress has been made . I asked if I should be worried but she hadn’t responded 😩

I don’t know about your levels but check out my profile and my posts about a year ago, I had a DISASTROUS scan and they were going to give up on me - then I went back a few days later and all hell had broken loose in my ovaries 😂 Don’t give up! Masses of luck xx

Hey! I have had 2 stims so far and in both cases it happened the same way - day 6 of stimulation the follicles were small, but by the next scan and by the egg retrieval they had grown considerably. It eas a boom :). I am a slow responder too at first, but in both cases 80-90% of the oocytes were mature and fertilized. Baby dust

Thank you so much for your reply, you was right they had a big growth spurt in just 2 days the Dr managed to get 12 eggs from 20 follicles . They didn’t all catch up on time for retrieval but I’m so happy the Dr managed to get 12 eggs from the 20 & yesterday I found out 7 has made blastocyst

Great news! How many days did you stim for in the end? I think something that isn’t talked about is also the range of follicle size - based on my limited understanding it’s not good when one or two are surging ahead of the rest. In your case it sounds like they just needed a bit more time but were all in it together!

So I did a down reg shot on day 21 of the previous cycle & then I did 13 days of stims 225 pergoveris & 75 Gonal .

Previously we had terrible results when we had 2 leading follicles that hit 22mm & 23mm & the other follicles were all over the place then nothing made it & all arrested after day 3 . So I think you are right about the leading follicles.

This time I was so worried because they was so small but all of a sudden they seemed to wake up however on the final scan the biggest was only 15.7 so I really thought I was out again

That's so interesting re: your biggest being 16 but you having such a good result - I read somewhere that the relationship between follicle size and egg maturity might vary considerably between individuals, hence why estradiol can be a useful parallel measure. i also had one abysmal cycle (egg freeze) because of uneven follicular growth and I could tell it was happening the whole time but the treating team pretty much ignored my concerns! I think they (fertility specialists) really should explain these finer points more to us.. Congratulations on your blasts btw, wonderful news!

Did you do 13 injections or 12 injections / 13 days incl trigger? I'm day 11 (after 10 injections) and triggering tonight. The clinic didn't ask for another one after they saw my scan results from Friday but I'm getting one today regardless!

13 injections, trigger on day 14 & collection on day 16 .
