I am hoping someone can give me some hope. Been for my third scan today and only have a follicle on each side growing. I was on a low dose of gonal as apparently I have too many follicles. They increased it Friday from 100 to 125 and today they have said to try 150. Has anyone had anything similar that worked out in the end?
my experience was different as they started me on the top dose which was 450. However in view of that it means they can keep increasing it till you respond so I wouldn't worry too much
Hi, I think slow growing is better because they can increase your dose and control it. I have surprisingly had the opposite problem today and my follicles have grown massively and I think too much since Fridays scan. I have follies if 24mm 22 mm, 21 mm, 20 mm, 18mm, 15mm, 13mm, and 2 x 7mm. They think the 13, 15 18 and 20 will be okay but the others are a bit big. Also have a 14mm on left ovary but that looks irregular apparently, so it could be collapsing already.
I am really annoyed that they don't scan on Sundays - its over the weekend that they have grown from 9, 10 and 11 ish sizes and I got a bunch of new follicles.
I am due for egg collection on Wednesday, very early, first appt - because they know mine have grown too much. Imagine how big they will be now that I have completed my HCG trigger shops, and another 2 days!!
This really makes me want to try argc clinic next where they monitor daily - maybe I wouldn't be in the situation.
So seems we both have the opposite problem. How many days have you been stimming for and can they increase your stimms? And how many follies have you got? Have you got PCOS?
What drugs were you taking are you on gonal? I started gonal 13th and stimulate stuff 18th it will be for fourth scan Wednesday and they told me if nothing's changed will go back to the beginning. They told me originally I have too many fonicles, I have about 8/9 on each side under 10. Tests they did show I don't have PCOS.
Great you don't have pcos. I think all will be well tomorrow for you, sounds like you have a good start and they will grow. I have egg collection tomorrow with my massive follicles, so worried but trying to stay positive.

I was very similar, they increased it to 185 after a week, a week later I had 7 follicles, 6 eggs, three of which fertilised! I know it's stressful but remember when they only use a small amount of drugs they're not expecting to get follicles in the double figures. Good luck
When you say after a week was that a week from your first scan or when you started? I think I got worried as when I first went for my first scan they said I could be in the Monday (first scan previous Wednesday) and now I'm past that and not growing. Fingers crossed all will be ok tomorrow, not sure how long they will keep increasing before they cancel?
Hi ya! i was on 112.5 Gonal F cos they were afraid to over stimulate .e.
Unfortunately my 1st Cycle wasnt successful and they retrieved only 4 eggs and couldn't freeze any (which was a bummer as i have free frozen cycles on NHS).
On the positive side, i didnt have any side effects, no weight gain (its a big plus for me as i lost 5 st before starting treatmemt) and even tho they retrieved only 4 eggs all fertilised and 3 of them developed Day 5 blastocysts!

Hi I am the same they are worried I over stimulate hope you don't mind me asking but how long did it take for yours to grow for them to do egg collection? They told me Monday if no change they'll cancell before EC.
Hi ya! i m not 100 percent sure but i think i was injecting Gonal F 112.5 for 12 days (i think i started Monday and stoped Friday or Saturday) Collection was Monday (2 weeks after i started on Gonal F)
i ve had Gonal F for a week than started another injections (cant remember the name sorry).
They never increased my level of Gonal F.
What else do u have except Gonal F? x
I started gonal on day 2 and then started cetrotide on the 6th day of gonal F. The second injection is to stop the eggs releasing. Only a couple of hours to go and I will know if the increase has made a difference
yes i had same . started Cetrotide 5. or 6 day after Gonal f. Wish you good luck!
Hello- I'm a slow responder, but my protocol is a lot higher. They cancelled my first cycle ( I was devasted) but I'm now on my second and have been stunning for 22 and counting on menopur 450, ( counting total is 46 days )
I hope they don't cancel this cycle, but if they do, rest assured they will try again with you.
I was GonAl F first cycle, menopur this cycle.

Hi, I was in a similar situation but was using menopur. They increased my dose 3 times and had 7 eggs collected. There is still hope. Good luck x
The very first scan I had they said I'd probably be stimulated for 10 days, had another one exactly a week after this, so after 7 days of stimulating and I hadn't responded as well as they had hoped! So they increased it! I ended up just needing to have few extra days of drugs. It's suprising how much response they can make in a couple of days x
Thank you for all your support, another one had grown so have 1 20, 16 and 13 so they are keeping me on a higher dose and was much more positive
Responding to this even though it is old in case other people are searching for the same information. We had a poor response on our first scan, having taken a high dose of gonal f (225) for 4 days (cyclus d7). With only 4 small follicles total, we had a nervous couple of days before second scan (d10). In the scan today there were 10 good-sized follicles. Doctors told us it can be normal not to see great results on d7. We have our next scan in two days, fingers crossed!
