Prontagest and endometrial biopsy results

Hi ladies, so I had the results from my endometrial biopsy! Apparently my endometrium came back as receptive so I continue to transfer as normal. When on 3 cyclogest I was absorbing the progesterone but not enough (something I’ve always had a sneaky suspicion of) so they’ve recommended 4 cyclogest a day and intra muscular injection (prontagest) every 3 days. I’ve never done these before and freaking out a bit, can anyone tell me about their experiences please? She also said I had an over active immune profile and has recommended steroids, just hoping my clinic will allow that under current circumstances. Got a call with my clinic Wednesday to discuss next steps.

I have had only prontogest injections with all of my ivf cycles, so I had to inject every night. I got my husband to do it. I found if I placed some ice on the area for around 10 mins before I didn’t feel it too badly. I got a lump on both sides of my bum from the injections but all in all it was ok so try not to stress. Xx

I’ve been using it for the first time this cycle (it’s done the trick so far I’m 10 weeks now). I was really worried too but it’s been absolutely fine and if I needed to have another transfer I’d ask to use it. I read it’s the best progesterone to use. I don’t find the injections painful at all but if you don’t get them in the right area then the injection site gets painful. I watched a YouTube video - Nurse Linda IVF medication injections - intramuscular injections. Worth a quick look.Good luck!

I am on prontogest and find that warming the vial first under armpit or boob makes it easier to inject. Then aim for higher up more on the hip than the actual bum otherwise you will find it goes into spasm and sitting is painful!! Then massaging the area after helps to spread the oil better avoiding lumps and I always apply heat for about half hour again to relax the muscle. Theres no denying it will be uncomfortable but it's not unbearable!!

I was also advised steroids back in january but was told it was too dangerous at that time. Fortunately my transfer was successful and the clinic changed their policy to allow steroids from last week so I am now on them (I also did intralips x2 prior to transfer and one at positive test).

Wow great to have some things to work on. Masses of luck with it all and crossing everything for you! My sister did those injections and she's a bit of a wimp and didn't complain too much so reckon they should be ok xx

Thanks lovely, well 3 years ago if you told me I’d be injecting myself I’d never have beloved it so hopefully this is just another hurdle to overcome! Hope you’re ok xx
