Endometrial thickness - will cycle get cancelled?

Hello all,

I'm am waiting for a FET. I couldn't have a fresh transfer because of OHSS risk (my oestrogen went too high). It's a natural cycle following a withdrawal bleed after egg collection and a period. I've just had a scan and I'm really despondent that my lining is only 5mm on day 10. The clinic have booked me in for another scan in 3 days time. I'm so frustrated with all the waiting and delays of fertility treatment, and am really upset at the idea that the cycle might be unviable. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to thicken my lining or what the clinic might be able to do to help? They didn't have any suggestions but have booked me in for another scan in 3 days time.

Hi, I understand your frustrations. Before I started this journey I thought it was just get an embryo in and hope it takes. I was completely naive to all the other factors to get to that point. I’ve not read any hard and fast ways but healthy eating and no smoking or vaping is what I’ve read. Good luck!

Thanks for replying Doodlebug23 . Yeah, I totally feel you on the nativity. I never could have foreseen the administrative delays, the 'off' cycles, the suddenly appearing cysts, the out of whack hormones, and the dangers of ovulating on the wrong day when your clinic closes on a Sunday! Feels like you really need all the stars to align for this to even get to the point of a FET. Wishing you all the best!

It’s a minefield!! I have also been caught with stuff happening at a weekend, and also now twice it’s been a Spanish bank holiday when I’ve tried to contact!! There’s an emergency number but still! 🙈

Baby dust to you too!

Hi polykleitos. Extra walking. Eat strawberries, water melon, green peppers, pumpkin seeds and acupuncture? Good luck. Diane

How frustrating, you still have time for it to thicken up, your lining might just be a slower grower. Have you tried searching for yoga to thicken your uterine lining on YouTube? There's a lovely woman called Bettina who has a few videos to help improve circulation which can in turn help to thicken your lining. It's nice and gentle too.

Otherwise, not sure how credible it is, but drinking pom juice is another thing you can do!

Is your lining normally quite good naturally? It might be that it's just having an 'off' cycle. which can happen - every cycle is different. Not ideal timing but you should be able to try again straight away if they did cancel.

Not sure what else the nurses will suggest as you are doing a natural cycle, but no doubt they will have some tricks up their sleeves.

Good luck!! I know how frustrating it can be when cycles are cancelled (I too got OHSS so couldn't do a fresh transfer) x

Ooh, I'll check out the YouTube videos. I hadn't heard of yoga for lining before. My lining is usually exactly how they doctors want it, so this is a new problem. It could well be an off cycle or maybe my body is still recovering from the stims. Good luck to you too :)

I would second the above advices.. Pom juice, beetroot, acupuncture and yoga. My clinic gave me Sildanefil (Viagra) for line thickening but I developed horrible side effects and those had to be stopped after taking for 3 days. Best of luck!

Hi! I developed OHSS and had a frozen cycle too, though mine was medicated. In addition to progynova, I drank a cup of pomegranate juice a day and did fertility reflexology. I think these helped with the lining as it was 3 mm thicker than it was on my FET when I didn't do these things. Very best of luck!

That's a great outcome. I'll be scouring the shops this eve for some pomegranate juice!

I have thin lining and on this cycle went for reflexology and for fertility massage and it went up to 8mm - if you can I’d recommend one or both of those. Good luck
