Hi girls! Wow it’s been ages since I’ve put anything on here or since I’ve even last felt comfortable discussing my IVF/ICSE journey. So in the last 3 years, I’ve gone through a fresh cycle and a frozen cycle, both of which were unsuccessful. Then last year we went through a new fresh cycle but I had developed severe OHSS after egg collection so my embryos were all frozen and I took a year out to sort myself out, I went on to lose 27kg in weight as the previous rounds of ICSI had made me put so much weight on. I also just needed the time to sort myself out mentally and brace myself to do this all over again. (I don’t have a great time of the injections and do become an emotional wreck everytime).
Just to give some context, the reason we need to go through ICSI is that DH has a very low sperm count, and the sperm that he has, have very low motility and morphology. I’ve got 2 children through my first marriage that I conceived naturally and DH has 2 children too that were born, however, through ICSI during his previous marriage.
So anyway, fast forward a year and here I am going through it again. This time they’re doing the FET Long Protocol, so on day 1 of my period (2/04/21) I injected the Prostap injection and now have to just wait until the 14/04/21 where I go for a pre-stim scan to see if the injection has done it’s job. I from then on will be told what meds to start next.
I’m taking vitamin D, iron, folic acid, and pregnacare all together every day. I’ve ordered a castor oil pack to start using from this evening up until my the transfer. I’m going to order raspberry leaf tea as well as I’ve heard these things help with your lining. Is there anything else I can do to increase the chances from my side to ensure that my lining is as receptive as possible to give the best chance of conception? ANY advice at all which you feel may have helped you guys would be very much appreciated!
Anyway my provisional date that I’ve been given for the thaw and transfer is 5/5/21, so fingers and toes crossed that it works this time.
I’ll definitely keep you all updated and sending best of luck and wishes to anyone else going through it!
