ICSI Long Protocol journey!

Hey girls!

Okay so over the last two years I’ve had one fresh and one frozen transfer...both unsuccessful 😔 but they were on short protocol. I’ve now begun another ICSI cycle with fresh sperm from hubby and everything but on the long protocol which is new to me. I’ve been taking Buserelin since the 13th January (day 21) and am going in for a scan on Wednesday 29th Jan to see if I can start the next set of injections.

So basically as anticipated, my hormones have been all over the place and I just feel so miserable and just pessimistic about it working this time. I know it’s the buserelin that’s making me feel like this but with two failed cycles I’m can’t help but feel anxious.

Anyway I’ll keep you guys updated on my journey and would love reading how you ladies are doing. I just feel like only women who have been through or are currently going through this procedure have an inkling of how it feels.

Aww Sophie, sorry to hear about your BFNs. They always stick in the back of our mind....think that's what gives us the fear of starting out again...we know how hard times ahead are! Buserelin is the work of the devil, make us feel like crap....even worse that we already are! However each cycle can be different so it's a new beginning! Thankyou for replying! Really appreciate any tiny bit of support from someone who knows what I’m going through, it means alot❤️ I hope everything is all good when I go for my scan and hopefully get onto stims from Wednesday! Xxx

Hi Sophie. Sorry to hear about your losses. I've also had a failed round on short protocol and started stimming drugs on Friday after 2.5 weeks of buserelin. I had taken buserelin before for FET so was ready for anxiety, insomnia etc but it is horrid. Hope the buserelin has done the trick and you can start stimming on Wednesday. Also hope it's a fruitful round for you. All the best. X

I have to keep taking the buserelin until I do my trigger so am currently on Menopur, Gonal F and Buserelin. It's like a dot to dot on my tummy!

Oh yes you do! I forgot, but it goes down to 0.2ml right? And bless you I can imagine dot to dot😂 I’m useless even with my own cycle I keep running back to open my diary and make sure I’m doing it right and not forgetting anything. My anxiety is really bad, I keep thinking it failed the last 2 times because maybe I did something wrong or missed something out. I’m really struggling to cope😭

Have you been offered counselling from your clinic? It could help to talk things through. It most definitely isn't your fault though! I've got to keep buserelin on the 0.5ml which is the dose I started on.

No I’m not even sure my clinic has anything like counselling, I will find out though. Gonna try sleep now. Night everyone!!! ❤️
