I have been taking solgar ubiquinol 400mg (200mg twice a day) to improve my eggs for about a year. Should i up this?
Also is there any particular dhea brand anyone recommends? I ordered mine from iherbs but not sure how good it is. Also have testogel at home. Any tips on whether the gel is better than the tablets would be much appreciated.
Im 40 now, with low amh and poor responder, and it feels like its all caving in for me so really want to give it my best shot this year.
Please help xx

Hi I being taken ubiquinol 400mg twice a day nearly 3months before I start my fresh cycle.
I had egg collection just 2weeks after I turn 40 . My AMH level last year was 6.7
I never took before ubiquinol and I was advised once to take low dose of DEHA ...so I bought it but to be honest there r some side effects from DEHA and I was bit worried off taking them so I didn’t.
My doctor in clinic told me I don’t need to take DEHA but I can take ubiquinol two to three tables a day and I was taking folic acid.
I had my baby girl in 2017 . Year after November 2018 we went back to clinic to try for siblings. We had one frostie but because my AMH was 5.6 we done fresh cycle and we was able collected 14 eggs. I was on Gonal F 375iu and synarel spray.
From that we gain 3 more frostie and one was transferred. I’m afraid didn’t work so we done two more natural frozen cycles and one medicated....we lost all 5 embryos ...didn’t work.
So no time waste last year soon after first lockdown clinics start doing some treatments I repeat my AMH and was 6.7.
We change the clinic and went through one more fresh cycle (cycle nr.7)
I was on different meds long protocol like my other 2 fresh cycles.
This time they collected 11 eggs (what I remember) one 5AA was transferred and the other 3 blastocysts grade C they recommended not to freeze so we didn’t have any Frosties this round.
40 years old 5.1 AMH I know is low but is not bad hun. Xxx
My hubby only took ubiquinol for one week . Was mainly Me taking till my transfer day then I stop and I was carrying on with folic acid.
I took advice from one of the girl here on forum. We was in similar situation and we was 2gother on 2ww . She had positive couple days before my BFP . Her due date is 19 aug and my 20 aug.
Hun I’m not a expert ...but I always ask more questions then I should ...I want to know and like to know everything...I read search and before I do anything I ask professional.
Taking ubiquinol I felt more “safe” then with DEHA because DEHA give some sides effect plus there is a blood test u should do to check if u need and if u do what dosage to take.
I know u trying to improve not just your egg quality but improve chances for positive outcome...I know how u feel I been there too hun.
Maybe is best to ask your doctor what he/she thinks is best for u . Xxx
Thank you so much for this advice, i took a testosterone test and im at 0.9 - and yes you have guessed it, i am going to google what is the ideal level lol.
I had 3 mc then got tests done my amh was 3.4 at 39 every else was fine told to keep trying naturally as I’d need a donor with ivf that was all that was mentioned about ivf no come back in 6 mths or a yr nothing. I then had 2 chemicals I just thought well that’s that I had tried dhea and ubiquinol amongst other supplements before my 3rd mc. I stopped everything no tracking or supps gave up then I conceived 6 mths later and now 27w at 41. I was pretty shocked why now and not 3 yrs ago how come my eggs now are better at 40 than 37-39? When they told me my Amh was 3.4 I was devastated & also knowing we wouldn’t have ivf even if we could afford it my partner didn’t want to. So low amh or not it really does only take 1 good strong egg.
Wow what an amazing story... you deserved it after all that heartache you must have gone through. Thank you for sharing, i need those reminders about that 1 egg. Wishing you all the best for the remaining days until your bundle of joy arrives xx
