FET and diet

I am currently on the long protocol for FET - 7 weeks long! I started taking the BCP 10 days ago and start injecting Lupron on Christmas Day :) I then do other pills and injecting leading up to a possible transfer date of Jan 27. My question is....when do I have to stop eating blue cheese?? I'm just wondering when all the things they say you shouldn't do during your cycle starts? My egg retrieval was back in October so it's been a while - so it's not like I feel I'm even on a cycle yet. The doc said the BCP is to bring the lining to zero and the Lupron is to bring my hormones to zero - so really I don't feel I'm even starting the cycle till I start with the estradiol which is in Jan - does that mean I can have a drink on NYE? It's that time of the year eh! :)

Thanks all and wishing all the best luck and all that baby dust!

You can definitely have a drink (or a few on NYE) and have the cheese (didn’t realize you had to give up cheese!). I was pretty much living a normal lifestyle up to a week before FET (and I’ve had 5 FETs in total so tried all sorts of stuff!). Enjoy the holiday season and good luck with your transfer in Jan xx

Ok perfect - thank you! May I ask were your FETs successful? Yeah I read that certain cheeses (like blue, brie and camembert) are a no go while pregnant. Thank you! xx

If they’re pasteurized they’re fine to eat but depends on how strict you want to be. I still eat sashimi very often, for example (I get it from a very good place). Anyway, I don’t see any reason to be super strict until you’ve done your FET and even after your bfp you can re-assess. I read this book called Expecting Better and the author does a great job myth busting common beliefs around coffee, fish, cheese, produce etc. for example, getting listeria from unwashed produce is far more common than from eating sushi. My final FET was successful, I’m 16 weeks now. I carried on having a normal lifestyle up to the week until the transfer and cut out caffeine, alcohol and high intensity exercise then.

I honestly think that having a few drinks on New Years wouldnt do any harm, your transfer is still quite far away

My FET is w/c 18 Jan. I asked my clinic if I can have a glass of Champaign on Christmas day. The answer is yes! According to them, the occasional small amount of drinking doesn't do much harm, it is the accumulation over long term regular drinking that should be avoided. x

Ah ok great thanks! There'll be no accumulation here! I'm off to eat more blue cheese now then! :)
