I have received a letter from my clinic, and we have a joint appointment. The last letter I received they said we both need to be at the next appointment as its a double appointment with Dr and nurse. Has anyone had a double appointment and what can I expect?
We have sperm analysis ✔ normal
My basic bloods ✔ normal include FSH, LH, progesterone and TSH
Tubes checked ✔ normal
AMH levels checked ✔ normal
TIA!

Hi lovely, I think most clinics will want you both there for your first appointment as it’s both your decision and important that you both understand what’s happening. After that you’ll find that you’re at a lot on your own! Xx
Hiya, I think its probably like millbanks said you both need to know what's happening and they will probably go through everything including the consent forms. You might have a scan for them to have a baseline for their records (if you haven't already). Might be a double appointment just purely because the length of time the forms take.x
You will probably have to discuss next steps like induction with Clomid or IUI or maybe IVF. Sometimes they can offer to monitor you for one month to make sure that you do ovulate. Also a scan to check your ovaries and uterus. All the best 💓🤗
Hi Laura sounds like we are in very similar situations. We are having ivf due to all tests coming back normal - no idea why we don’t conceive naturally but been trying for nearly 4 years now! We have a joint appointment this Friday for a swab and my partners semen sample (but we did this last year and then Covid hit) so have to do it again. We have a consultation on the 31st which I’m guessing is consent forms etc. Can let you know how it goes if your appt is after ours?
Yes very similar, including age too! Are your appointments face to face or video?
We have had all tests done this year, as the appointment is 13th January, do you reckon we will have to do them again?Have you had your AMH and tubes checked?
It’s face to face on Friday and I think it’s face to face on the 31st but not 100% I’ll have to ask. I’m not sure if you’ll have to do yours again but ours was more than a year ago now so can see why they want us to do them again.
I was told they wouldn’t even check my tubes as they could see I was ovulating and blood tests were normal so it wouldn’t change the outcome of ivf but I’d still like to know if there’s anything that could explain my infertility! I don’t know what my AMH is so will hopefully find out more about that soon.
I hope you are managing okay emotionally, it’s quite exhausting isn’t it. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼
I had a rough month, hoping to fall pregnant before Christmas but AF arrived and it really affected me more, especially that day meeting my partners sisters new born baby. All my appointments have been over video, which haven't been too bad.
Do your family and friends know about your fertility journey?
My mam does and some close friends and I’ve found that helps so I can talk about it when I want to but my partner doesn’t want any of his family or friends to know. We are the only ones on his side of the family without children (and the oldest) so keep getting asked about it! How about you?
That must have been a tough few days for you, it seems these occasions have a way of falling in line with AF...as if our journey isn’t bad enough! 😔
