5weeks pregnant is it miscarriage?

It’s my first pregnancy abd I don’t even know it is still there. My hcg was in the upper side, we got 3+ day 14. I am only a bit nauseous but not sick at all and not all the time. My breast are a bit sore but not much. Yesterday I did another digital test and it showed 2-3 weeks. I was in tears but we decided to test again this morning and read about hook effect. This morning the test was back to 3+. I also started slight bleeding, very little bit there was something like a vein in dark red. I am going to do a blood test tomorrow and am really worried I may have miscarried. I had a chemical before and I am so worried this maybe the same. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate.

Those digital tests are awful - mine never went over 3+ weeks, it’s meant to tick over to 3+ weeks at 2850 hcg and mine never went over even when I was 7 weeks with a heartbeat and i think my hcg was about 10,000. So please don’t worry only based on that (it’s hard I know!).

I think I’m the most anxious person ever in early pregnancy after everything I’ve been through, I think most people would advise that you stop testing. But I think my own advice would be to get a blood test twice 48 hrs apart - over 3000 Hcg you should see the embryo nicely, and between 7-10k you can see the heartbeat so getting a beta hcg test could help you decide whether it’s soon enough to have an early scan to ease your worries. I’m all for anything that can reassure you! Im sure and I hope the bleeding is nothing, people do have small bits of bleeding all the time and it’s nothing xx

Thank you Orla! I worry all the time as all is so fragile. I did blood tests last week over 48 h and they doubled with the last reaching 8000 and this was 4.5 weeks, so very high and this added to the worry. Whenever I move forward there’s something to worry about ty at can set you back. I will do the blood tomorrow again, just to see as the scan is 10 days away.

I think with hcg that high I would just go for an earlier scan! But that’s me now, if I ever get pregnant again I will be terrified and will be having a scan the moment I know it’s possible to see something! Those digi tests are truly rubbish though for accuracy for the 3+ weeks part. When I was in a panic I found so many people who had successful pregnancies and babies said they could never get 3+ on those tests so I think they are pretty inconsistent about that final leap, so try not to worry. I hope no more bleeding, keep us posted xx

I just googled it:

The Clearblue Digital pregnancy test with conception indicator is the most sophisticated test on the market at the moment. ... A doctor will interpret the results as 1-2 meaning you are 3-4 weeks pregnant, 2-3 meaning you are 4-5 weeks pregnant and 3+ meaning you are more than 5 weeks pregnant.

If you have the leaflet from the box I think it’s on it too.

It could be that you just had a diluted wee please try not to worry. When I went for my 7 week viability scan I was telling the sonographer that I was sure it was a MMC as the only symptoms I had were from the progesterone wind and sore boobs. I’m 12+4 now and still don’t “feel pregnant” I’ve never had any nausea, I’ve just gotten used to this is how what my pregnant looks and feels like 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've also seen other ladies not have proper movement on the weeks indicator so it could well just be down to that. Could you get your bloods done to give you some peace of mind?xx

Hi all, thank you for your messages. I went for a blood test this morning and to my surprise it has doubled since Wed if I count the doubling from Friday to now. This just shows the digital wasn’t correct on Saturday showing me a 2-3 instead of the previous 3+. Onto another waiting for the scan as now I just worry is there a sac hope it’s not ectopic etc. I have had so many experiences that’s it’s so hard not to worry what can go wrong and hard to stay positive but today I am trying! Still no other symptoms at all...
