Good day my lovely fighters. Been having a hard time since I recieved the news yesterday about my lining being 6mm . I am supposed to have an fet coming Friday , so I visited the clinic yesterday for a Scan in order to check if my lining is thick enough to start progesterone tomorrow, as I was told I would have to be on progesterone for 5days before transfer. The result of the scan was 6mm and my Re is saying that I might have to cancel this cancel if by tomorrow I don't get up to 8mm. I have been on progynova, baby aspirin, folic acid , vitamin E and a prenatal vitamin( fertilaid) , since my last failed fresh circle in March. Please any suggestion on how to grow my uterine lining will be well appreciated

How do I thicken my endometrial lining for an FET
Did the clinic mention upping your medication at all? This can sometimes help. I've had trouble with my lining in the past and sometimes clinics have to adjust meds for different people. Dont lose hope yet! Good luck.xx
Yes they did up my medication at later time , I started of with 2mg progynova for the first 3days and then to 4mg for another 3days, but now on 6mg . I guess I should have started with 6mg from the beginning cos that seems to be the case for every other persons stories I read , I don't know why my doc made me start on 2mg cos I believe that is very low for someone planning FET.just yesterday , she prescribed a viagra for insertion , which I wasn't able to get by the way because all shops closed early due to the ongoing pandemic
They just dont know how you'll respond to med when you havent taken them before and it's best to give you less rather than too much. I usually start on 8mg plus patches from day 2 and then usually have to dip mine after a week but for my first time it was the same protocol as you....so we are all difference!! Its a shame you couldn't get thr viagra to try.🙁Hopefully you'll see a difference at next scan.xx
I was on a whopping 10 tablets a day so 20mg of progynova, my lining went from 6mm to 8mm in 2 days, I also tried fertility yoga. Think thick! I hope you get there x
Thank you Kitkat , I think I will increase the dose and see if any miracle happens overnight ,as my next scan is tomorrow
Just remember if you increase your dose you'll need to stay on that dose! Good luck.xx
Do you mean that if I increase the dose, I would have to stay on it for the rest of my circle or it could be changed in another circle? I have just from now till tomorrow noon to get from 6mm to 8mm, which I believe only miracle would do for me
I drank tonnes of pom juice, however I'm not sure if it helped or not! xc
I’ve had 3 cancelled FETs due to lining issues. Please don’t adjust your medication without speaking to the clinic - I know it’s tough and you want to do everything you can but they’re the experts. Raspberry leaf tea is meant to help, as is acupuncture and also caster oil packs. For each of my cycles the clinic have adjusted my medication to see if it makes a difference. It’s so tough. They maybe able to push you for a bit longer to see if it thickens. Did they mention the quality of the lining? Is it triple layered? That is as important as thickness so is also key. Good luck! x
Not medical and may not even work but I heard warm feet was good for uterine lining. 2 pairs of fluffy socks xx
I’ve read that eating about 3-4 Brazil nuts a day and drinking pomegranate juice can help. also try caster oil packs can help. I’ve only read this though. I know Brazil nuts are high in selenium which is good for fertility and thickening the lining but I’ve only read this.
I had this. My lining was 5mm on my scan and was 13mm on transfer day. How often are you taking progynova? I was initially taking it orally 3x per day. After the scan, I added on vaginally in the evening and it was fine. X
Hi there, I tried a natural FET cycle and was in the same situation with my lining only measuring 6mm then trying everything to get my lining to thicken within a couple of days. Unfortunately we had to abandon our cycle but went straight into a medicated cycle. Our consultant put me on cyclogest pessaries (400mg x 2 times an day) and Estradam patches (4 x 100 mg patches).
I was absolutely devastated when we cancelled our transfer but I am glad we did. I am now 11 weeks pregnant and so grateful that we took a bit more time to find something that worked for my body. My clinic was only looking for lining to reach 7mm and I got there but just (I think my lining was 7.1 at my scan. It is such a frustrating process and takes a lot of trail and error. I thought it would never happen for me, we have faced a number of hurdles and disappointments along the way. I often doubted the clinic but had to keep telling myself that they are the experts and they want it to work.
Good luck, I hope things work out for you and that your lining reaches 7mm. However, if not I am sure your clinic will adapt your medication to help you grow a thicker lining. My clinic told me that they have had successful pregnancies with linings as thin as 5mm, they just want to try everything to get it above 7mm because this is optimal. Don’t lose hope, I know it is easier said than done but miracles do happen.
Can you ask if they can put the transfer back by a few days or a week to give your lining a chance to grow? I've had 2 FET and both times lining has been only 5-6 when I have the monitoring scan. The clinic increase my meds and scan me in a week and then it is thick enough. Sometimes it just needs a bit more time for your body to respond to the medication. X
I used pentoxifyline (800 mg/day) plus vitamin e (1000 IU) and that did the trick for me, after trying multiple other drugs. I was completely non-responsive to estrogen-based treatments. I also found that a natural cycle (with trigger) was a lot better than medicated FET.
Thank you all for all your advice and encouragement .. I just had my scan and I got up to 9mm , I am relieved at least, going on to the next phase now
Hello! Sorry to hear about the lining!
So when I did my first FET, my lining was also under the required 8mm (and I was on 6mg progynova). They added estrogen patches (100) every third day and gave it one more week and it got there! Can your clinic postpone it and give you a chance to grow it over the next few days?
