Hi 👋 I'm doing a natural FET tomorrow, my lining at ovulation was 8.6mm so well within the normal range and today I've gone in for a final scan before transfer and my lining has compacted to 6mm.
I've been told this is fine and normal for the lining to compact after ovulation and when progesterone levels rise.
They said it's nothing to worry about and good luck with the transfer but this is my 4th transfer and now I'm starting to worry that this is not ideal.
I'm trying to trust in what the Dr's have said as I was really trying to stay calm and chilled as much as possible but what hope I had is starting to fade thinking this might hinder the embryos chance of sticking.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is this normal? Looking for a bit of reassurance really before tomorrow
Xxxx

Hi Ashley.. it sounds like you’re (understandably) feeling wobbly about it. I wonder if you’d feel better for checking it out with one of the nurses? I hate ringing up and asking questions, partly because I’m exhausted from the drugs or emotions or feel a bit silly asking.. But lately I’ve been making myself get in touch when I need reassurance/ to understand something better.. No one’s ever been difficult with me for asking and I always feel better afterwards.. I know it’s tricky reaching out but maybe you might feel better too.. xxx
Thanks so much for your reply. It was a nurse I saw today who went out of the room to chat to the consultant, she was of the same opinion that its absolutely fine. I think its me, because we've had 3 failed transfers I just wanted everything to look textbook perfect so it was one less thing to worry about. Xx
Hey 👋🏼 compacting is normal but I’ve never had my lining checked the day before only at ovulation so I don’t know what it’s went down to but they like it over 7.5-8 at my clinic at ovulation knowing that it can compact slightly before transfer so they must have that accounted for that already in their mimimim if that makes sense! Good luck today xx
Oh thankyou so much! My clinic don't usually scan the day before either but at my last transfer the Dr was talking out loud doing the transfer and I heard him say uterine lining at 6.something and I was like what!! He said it was fine too but I always thought it had to be between 7-9mm so was panicking. It was me that requested this final lining check the day before transfer to put my mind at rest and it did the opposite! The day before ovulation last week it was 8.6 so hopefully this is fine like you say.
Thanks so much I needed that as the bit of hope I had for transfer felt like it was dwindling.
