Hot water bottle whilst stimming??

Hi, does anyone know whether it helps follicle/eggs to grow if you use a hot water bottle on your lower abdomen whilst stimming? I did it before after embryo transfer but wondered if doing it whilst stimming might help them grow a bit more as I'm not a great responder to IVF drugs.

I did castor oil packs. I'm convinced it helped but could have been a variety of things. Even if hot water bottles are proven not to help, whats the harm? For me I wanted to feel that I was doing everything in my power to increase my odds. I also felt like the packs helped my lining. Best of luck!

Oh, I was told that you shouldn't use caster oil packs whilst stimming! I get that you want to feel like you are doing all you can to help. Thanks for your help :-)

Oh then maybe avoid my advice. Maybe use warmth and not castor oil, and maybe not all the time? And I would use heat when looking at improving lining. And avoid caster oil packs during your period.

I was told a definitive no by my clinic on using a hot water bottle during stims as the heat isn't good for developing eggs. I was gutted as was so sore! xx

Oh crikey, looks like lots of conflicting responses! Why should I be surprised, this is IVF after all!!!

so true! I guess it's the old 'if in doubt leave it out!'. I didn't risk it after that but who knows if it is really that bad.

My clinic always said yes to heat during stimms but not after transfer as embryos don't like to be too warm once they're back in the body x

How funny, I did the exact opposite previously when I've had embryos transferred!!! Thanks for your response.

Thanks - even though responses have been varied I think I will use the heat pad :-)

I love hot water bottles! But I was told to avoid them after transfer as embryos are a bit heat sensitive. Good luck Xx
