Early Ovulation before Egg Collection

Hi all! I hope you can give me some insight. Im 41 years old with nearly 0 AMH and high FSH.

I came to Istanbul in July and just want to check myself. They didn’t see any follicles just like very small one. DR said lets try merional 150 and we saw that there is a small changes and we carry on more with 150 + 75 then we saw that follicles enlarged to 13mm then we start Cetrotide and when we have follicles 19mm they give me time for Ovitrelle. I did all injections on time. I was keeping this secrer as I didnt tell even my husband that I’ve started for a treatment. But when they give me time for egg collection I was absolutely flying as this was a dream for me.. I’ve asked my husband to come over here in a night. I’ve extended my annual leave from work as I had to stay here 1 month.. but on the collection date they told me that I’ve ovulated already..

Why this happened? Because they give me high dose or they give me wring time, why? They told me that this is happens when you have low egg reserves. And they cN’t predict. Im in clinic at the moment for follow up appointments but I can’t describe my disappointment...

Im so sad All my efforts, time, money, and hopes are gone now...

Essie that is disheartening . Unfortunately stimulating egg production is not an exact science, it's very hit and miss. No one did anything wrong. Especially not you

Have you researched the effects of diet on amh? Wishing you all the best.

I was trying to eat healthy and lots vegetable on this IVF journey. I'm not overweight and normally very healthy but because of my age I have poor egg reserve. However I heard that exercise and eating healthy has massive impact on AMH increase, Ill definitely continue to eating healthy and start for exercise. Also I'm taking Impryl and OmeqaQ10 for vitamins.

I want to try clinic in Istanbul again but I have to stay here like a month and this is like my second time that I took so much time from work even do Im working online here. in UK they asked like £9k for iCSI package treatment and I found very expensive..

Im so sad at the moment, Two days ago my dream was coming thru as I was injecting myself and seeing a growing follicle.. How much I pray in those days only God knows.. but now Im feeling that spots will grow on my face and maybe have period soon... Im still shocked and so upset that even I can't cry.

Dr in UK advising us to use donor eggs but mentally Im not ready for this, I've done PRP in January which I think there is no really benefit for that.

I wish I can stay here and try again next month, I feel like I'm hopeless..

Hi Essi, oh it's really hard, your story makes me feel so much love for you and remember my own ivf tries. Unfortunately when you get down to very low egg reserves (I had 0.6 a year ago) its really hard to get pregnant. I did 4 cycles and had 3 complete failures. I didn't ovulate early, but I got few follicles and the eggs did not fertilise. I spent so much time, money effort to make it happen, and I sacrificed a lot for my work and had difficulty in my relationship. So hard.

For now you will feel stunned and shocked, so I think you need to look after yourself very well. Lots of care, do things you like, rest, can you share with a friend? With time it will start yo feel easier.

Ask your doctor if you do a second round is there anything they can do differently.
