Egg collection / early ovulation

Hope everyone is keeping well on this tough road! I had a day 11 scan this morning, egg collection now planned for this Friday. I had an extra day of meds to help some smaller follicles catch up. However on my scan today, and previous scans, 1 follicle has been quite dominant. And today was measuring 27mm. I’m so worried about ovulating early despite being on Cetrotide to prevent ovulation. Any wise words / experience of similar situations? Advice appreciated as always! X

Hope you get some replies from ladies with similar experiences as this forum is an excellent source of support The medication Cetrotide is used to delay ovulation till you are ready for egg collection Have you discussed your concerns with your clinic ? Might help put your mind at ease

I’ve had similar and bascially they sacrifice the larger one (ie can be over mature) to get more of an even size coming through. You won’t ovulate with the antagonist still going. Hope all goes well for you!Xx

hello! I had similar happen to me twice! Out of curiosity what medication are you on? This happen to me on two rounds when I was on Pergoveris. I had 1/2 embryos that’s would shoot ahead and they were basically sacrificed for the smaller ones. You won’t ovulate don’t worry, I was thinking the same.

I asked my medication to be changed to gonal f as I was on this with my first round three years ago. My results have been so much better. My recent round we added Meriofert and all my embryos grew at the same rate and I managed to collect 14! I was only getting 6/7 on my previous rounds. Just thought I’d share incase you are in a similar situation. Good luck with the collection! X

I’m on Gonal F, but not meriofert, might explore this in the future if we are to have another round. Thanks so much for replying, has definitely helped put my mind at ease! X
