I am 37 and have had 2 miscarriages and 1 ectopic this year. Had a lap a few weeks ago to wake up to awful news that both fallopian tubes are blocked and IVF only chance. After consulting with gyno they are willing to try and unblock. If they can't then will tie tubes ready for IVF. Has anyone had anything like this will?

I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility then had an ectopic so they then put it down to my tubes. I had loads of scans and they didn’t see any fluid but then my first IVF didn’t work.
My consultant said that I needed a lap to see what was going on in my remaining tube (there was 2 options: fix my tube or tie the tube) I honestly thought they would end up blocking the tube off but they managed to fix it!! (Had to drain some fluid and also stitch the tube open) They gave me 3 months to try to conceive naturally and on the second month I fell pregnant and am now 21 weeks!
So it does work and I wished I had my lap before.. there’s no harm in trying anyway!
Good luck & if you have any questions about my experience then let me know x
Hi. Sorry to hear about you bad news! I had hydrosalpinx in my left tube so had a lap and dye in september, i got the good news that the fluid had cleared but the bad news that both my tubes are blocked at the fimbral end, i’ve got my follow up appt on friday, 11 weeks after my op, soi’ve had a long agnonising wait for my gynae appt, my Gp has told me the only way i’ll concieve is ivf, but i’m interested to see wether my gynae will clip my tubes! Xx
They gave me 2 lots of strong antibiotics and after the second lot the transvaginal scan showed no sign of fluid so looks like the antibiotics shifted it but hydro can clear on its own and then come back, but my gynae still went ahead with the lap incase my tube was scarred,so glad she did otherwise we wouldn’t have know that both my tubes were blocked. Xx
Thanks, I mentioned antibiotics and they brushed me off. I'm going to insist of them as I think the hydro is new as had 2 miscarriages before the ectopic x
i had hydrosalpinx that ended in tube removal in one side and attempt to unblock in the other. They didn't remove that tube but were happy for me to go straight for ivf which miraculously worked first time. I'm now 18 weeks pregnant x
Am in the same boat, diagnosed with Endometriomas and both tubes blocked with fluid inside. I also have fibroid and adhensions, have been booked for an operation to remove both tubes as my Gynacologist adviced it will be the only way to improve the success rate of my ivf. Am hoping things goes well , I feel so depressed as I will be turning 37 yrs next year, my egg quality has dropped. All this I go through every day. Endometriosis is a deadly killer and I advice all women should please take care of themselves by visiting your gp to ask questions before is too late 😢😢😢
Hi sorry I know you posted a year ago. But you sound just like me. How have you managed to get on a year after all this. What procedures have you had and did you manage to fall pregnant. Thanks.
NHS waiting list is a nightmare. Still waiting for my operation to get rid of the two tubes and also my endo has grown back. Unfortunately got no good news still but am hoping for the best outcome after my surgery. Will definitely update you xx
Sorry to hear your going through the same. When I came round from the lap I was told IVF only change and thati would have to have tubes clipped or out. However when follow up appointment they said they were willing to try and unblock tubes first.do you have children? My amh is 15.4 2 years ago x
I had hydrosalpinx on both my tubes so had to have both removed before ivf could start. Was also told I had severe endo and a fist sized fibroid. I went on to have a successful pregnancy and have a beautiful little boy. Keep the faith xx good luck
Hey, just wanted to say don't loose hope. I had to have my left tube removed due to hydro and when j woke they told me my right tube was also blocked but appeared normal from the outside. They said ivf was the only way for us, we had 2 rounds on the NHS which both failed unfortunately, but by miracle I fell pregnant naturally 5 months later.. Sometimes they get it wrong xxx
Well I had to have the tube with the hydro removed but they left the other tube in but said it was also blocked but not with hydro, they wasn't sure what though. But I still fell pregnant and the baby stuck but unfortunately I lost her 3 weeks ago as she was severely ill with Turner syndrome But don't ever give up hope honey as they said I would not get pregnant and I did xxx
