Yes everyone is so supportive and kind, it's really helps you get through the tough times, things have been super tough but I continue to try! I'm not giving up yet! Xx
hi, welcome to the site! I finishing down regging last wk after 2 wks on buserelin. You'll be surprised at how easily you'll do the injections yourself and now mine don't hurt at all. Good luck and if you have any questions no matter how silly they seem here's the place to ask! Best wishes for your cycle xx
All the messages making me feel better! Doing the injections is like ripping bandaid off you don't want to do it to yourself but it's always ok in end. Think cos doing alone, but making room nice to do it in and sucky sweet while I do it ha ha!
You very kindly said I could ask questions however silly!
Well here goes?
My nurse said to make sure I'm sitting down while I inject and grab the fatty bit of my tummy which is fine. Thing is just moved house and only chair I have is my sofa. Can innit just sit on the edge of my bed to do it? And also is it okay just to use cotton to swan off after injection?
Questions, questions!!
How are you doing now? If it's not too forward for me to ask have you had booster shot etc now and onto other meds?
completely agree. In a sense it's like each time you do an injection it's like doing it for the first time again because self injecting is not the most natural thing in the world but then you realise it's nothing really and still feel proud of yourself each time! I always do mine sat on edge of bed and that's fine. If I bleed a bit after (which is normal), I just use alcohol wipe. I was on buserelin from Tues to a week Thu so 10 days in total. Then gonal F and still on it now so this will be day 10. Hopefully not much longer now until trigger but my ovaries have been responding very slowly so they've increased my dose and now on 450. I think something's been happening over the weekend however as I've felt a few twinges a bit like a stitch so hoping this is it now and EC Weds if so. Are you in short or long protocol? Remember no question is too silly!xx
Yes you so right about being proud. Feel like can do anything as it's a big fear. Plus I have nice yoghurt afterwards.
Ok so you are well into the process now that's good and great that it sounds like you can feel things happening now. Fingers and toes crossed!
I'm sure I'll see you on here before wed for ec but if not will be thinking.
They've put me in long protocol.
Thankyou for sitting down advice!👍🏽😀
Xx
NOTE New LADIES on here
If you are nervous about injecting for first time get some fruit, nectarines work fine and hold next to tummy where you want to inject and practise on it. It helps you to work out what pressure to use. My clinic gave me a pinchusiony thing to practise on first. Obv throw the practise needle away don't use after 😉🤗
Hi Heregoesthen77 welcome I down regd with Buserilin for two weeks on long protocol too and I understand how anxious you are feeling about it. The first injection I found was the most difficult. The needle is so small you can barely feel it, it was the thought of it that had me anxious. What I used to do was pinch a bit of belly fat around the naval area, insert the needle and always inject slowly. I found if I injected too fast it stings. I wish you all the best on your journey and if you've any questions feel free to ask xxx
Ahhh brilliant news.. always brilliant to start and now just try not to think about it. Wake up do injections and go enjoy each day. I could swear my last round of IVF was due to not even thinking about it. Keep yourself busy...good luck will be here xxxx 🍀🌈🤗🌷🦄❤️🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
Good luck with your journey! I am now day 11 of down regging but with nasal spray so I feel like I'm may be getting off a bit lighter than you. I start injections next week and I'm nervous already so I can imagine how you feel!
I'm obviously not on the same meds as you but at a similar stage so feel free to message if you have any questions or need a chat.
I’m also about to start down reg in a couple of weeks. Best of luck with it all- I’ve decided to stay at work (obviously with a couple of days off around collection) and have booked 10 days off just after the 2ww. Hopefully to celebrate a positive outcome but if the worse happens then there’s time away from work to get my head around it.
Dreading the injections though! Did you go for tummy or leg? I’ve been told either is fine?
