Evening All, hope you’re well! I just wanted to ask what you’re experience has been in preparing your syringe of buserelin? For me preparing the syringe has been more stressful than actually putting the needle in me!! Has anyone else found it really hard to get it in without creating bubbles?! If you have any tips then please share! My husband prepares it for me because it stresses me out, however he still gets bubbles, so I’ve just been doing it with small bubbles as it gets to a point where we’ve tried so much to try and not get any, just seems impossible!! Let’s hope the Gonal F isn’t as difficult!! X

I found flushing it back in and withdrawing it again helped and I also withdrew more than I needed first then flicked the air bubbles to the top and then flushed the excess out to give me the right dosage! think it’s in one of them the more you do it the easier it gets x

We do that too, basically fill the syringe twice. I make Hubbie do it as often as possible because it is really stressful! I found gonal f less stressful... the worst for me was menopur cos you have to mix it every time!

You may already be doing this but I always made sure the bottle was upside when inserting the needle and began withdrawing it very slowly. You can also do as shanks said and withdraw a bit to much and then push the plunger up to push out the air, it does get easier the more you do it. Also don’t worry about Gonal F that’s a pre filled pen so all you have to do is turn the end and insert - a lot less stress. Good luck xx

Thank you! Will be giving this a go! Nurse had told us to put needle into bottle whilst upright on a table side, but will try doing as you say! Will let you know how I get on tomorrow night! Good news about Gonal F! X

Oh really, I’ve always held the bottle upside down through all my 4 cycles and it worked for me so hopefully it does you to x

My gonal f was not in a pre-filled pen, I had to mix it then use the mixture with a syringe for a few days running then mix more. Next time I might ask about this pre filled pen, it sounds good!

Yes mine is in a pre filled pen, just have to screw on the needle every time, and twist to correct dosage x

Lucky you! I’m so requesting this next time! Do you have to keep it in the fridge?

Nurses at the clinic said a few little bubbles do no harm so I wouldn’t fret too much. I put 50 of air in the syringe, injected that into the bottle slowly, tipped it up the other way slowly and then took 60 out and gently pushed 10 back in. Usually had a few tiny bubble in there but nothing more. You’ll be good so try not to worry xx

When I was doing my injections I watched medical video on the net and used it as I was drawing it up until I was using injection. Good luck xx

My first cycle I was stressed about bubbles, but then on my second cycle a different nurse told me not to worry about small bubbles. Bubbles are bad if injecting into veins, as air in your blood stream causes issues, but these injections are into your fat layer, so not such a problem to have small bubbles. I've been on a lot of fertility forums and never heard of anyone having problems due to injecting bubbles, so I would say don't stress about it. If it was an issue they wouldn't recommend people do it themselves at home. I also had Gonal-F that I had to mix myself. Good luck! x
