HI I was taking clexane up until about 10 weeks then switched to asprin 75 mg. It is supposed to help prevent miscarriage and other things. Speak to your consultant as I'm very suprised they haven't told you to take it x
Thanks for sharing this, i saw it on tv the other week about aspirin being prescribed but my clinic haven't mentioned it to me. Can't do any harm but I'll ask them at my next appointment xx
I've been taking it with heparin but only since I got my positive test and only because I have blood clotting issues in pregnancy. There are some reports out there that it helps conception in natural pregnancies because it increases blood flow to the uterus but I would not recommend self medicating - it may interact with the hormones you are taking so you should check with your clinic first.
The reports you read about aspirin helping pregnant women in the Daily Mail, etc are largely because it is prescribed to women with a disease called antiphospholipid syndrome which causes clotting and early miscarriage and it is normally taken with heparin to treat this.
Hi tlove, congrats on the positive result and thanks for the info. Yeah i read that daily mail article and some others and im not sure what to do for me as I've never had a miscarriage and don't have a blood clotting issue, I'll see what the docs say.
I am taking 75mg once a day. But this has been prescribed by my consultant. I think I started it around 13 weeks. Personally I wouldn't take anything without medical advice.
Hi. There is a place for the use of lose dose soluble aspirin, but I would always check with your GP/consultant before taking any non prescribed drugs. Good luck with whatever you do decide. Diane
Hi Diane, scan went well thank you. 22 follicles in total with 7 looking a good size to contain an egg suitable.
I completely forgot to ask the consultant about taking aspirin, from what I've read i dont think it would be suitable for me.
Ivf/ICSI is a minefield of people and media giving you advice. At least i know i can ask anything on here and hear first hand from the people who know 👍xx
Hi JoJo_1984. Well so far so good, so fingers crossed for some decent eggs and of course fertilisation. You can always ask when you go next re the low dose soluble aspirin, just in case. Good luck and thanks for the update. Diane
